When the Switch debuted it had a powerful slate of game releases for its first year. In 2017 alone we got Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, and The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. That’s three killer exclusive titles released within the span of about 8 months. For some companies having a few great games come out in the same year may not be all that impressive, but for a developer like Nintendo that tends to have a rather slow and methodical release schedule, it was practically unheard of....

The number of space exploration games seems to grow with the availability of better and more affordable technology. Among them is the crowd-funded oddity from Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts Star Citizen. Though the game has no dedicated release date, the studio puts out tons of content talking about what they’re working on and adding to the game. Most of these updates involve space ships in some form. There are a number of different spaceships that have been unveiled in Star Citizen with more on the way....

The wait for the next season of The Mandalorian hasn’t been an easy one, especially after two massive cliffhangers that left the internet ablaze last December. One of those cliffhangers will be addressed in The Book of Boba Fett, which continues the story of Boba and Fennec Shand’s hostile takeover of Jabba the Hutt’s old territory on Tatooine. But the other cliffhanger — whether Din Djarin and Grogu will ever be reunited — will remain a mystery into next year....

The dawn of DVDs arrived around the same time that George Lucas and his team were pioneering new CGI technologies for the Star Wars prequels. This unfortunate timing has doomed the original trilogy, because Lucas decided to update his classic Star Wars movies with a bunch of superfluous CG effects, almost all of which were a clear detriment to the quality of the movies. Since Lucas insists these are the definitive versions of the movies, he’s never released the theatrical cuts of the original trilogy on DVD or Blu-ray....

The Mandalorian season 2 trailer set the stage for what will likely be another explosive year for the Star Wars live-action series. The second season picks up where the first left off, with the Mandalorian searching for the home of Baby Yoda, the most sought after prize in the entire galaxy. As the trailer teases, the journey could lead them to the Jedi, the “sorcerers” who were once known as the enemy of the Mandalorians....

Origin announces its Infinite Gaming Sale, which offers Star Wars Battlefront at the lowest PC price and knocks Battlefield 4 down to only $5 across all platforms. Just before E3, EA announced the June 21st release date for Star Wars: Battlefront’s Bespin DLC release. Fast forward a few hours later and EA’s Origin fired up its Infinite Gaming sale, which discounts Battlefront to $19.99 - the lowest price to-date for the title on PC....

When Star Wars: The Last Jedi released in 2017, it quickly became one of the most divisive films in the franchise’s history. There’s no shortage of Starfield rumors floating around out there, but the latest one seems to be the wildest yet. Courtesy of the Gaming Leaks And Rumors subreddit (via GamesRadar) comes this tale from three supposed Starfield “insiders” that say Bethesda has hired Tom Cruise for their upcoming open-galaxy game. As proof, the insiders point to a 2018 tweet where Bethesda seems to reach out to the Hollywood A-lister. “Hey @TomCruise, we’re huge fans,” Bethesda wrote....

Just before E3 kicked off, I heard the news that Smite was getting a Stranger Things crossover. Like all Smite news, it elicited a brief shrug before I moved on with my life and forgot all about it. That’s not a slight on Smite, I’ve just never played it and never will. Obviously, I hear quite a bit of gaming news as part of my job, and if it’s not a story I’m covering or a game I care about, it tends to go in one ear and out of whatever orifice is currently the closest....

Firefly Studios have been hard at work with the ongoing development of Stronghold: Warlords, which moves the franchise into Chinese, Mongolian and Korean history. We already saw Fire Oxen when we got our hands on the demo. Now the team is upping the ante as they unveil a new Fire Arrow Cart and Rocket Launcher, alongside the classic Siege Tower. These new siege weapons are inspired by the ancient Chinese relationship with flaming arrows and winged rockets and will allow players to infiltrate and even obliterate castle walls....

Subnautica’s planet 4546B has a lot of beautiful fauna and flora. During your journey to escape the place, you’ll encounter many creatures that will either help you survive or try to kill you at first sight. Either way, you should try to scan them to learn more about each of the creatures you’re dealing with. The problem? Most of these creatures are aggressive and won’t like you pointing at them with a scanner....

Seasoned expert tabletop roleplaying game designer Andrew Peregrine recently launched their second Kickstarter adventure, this one to fund Opera House, a “tabletop Roleplaying game and theatre sourcebook set in the surreal Royal Grand Opera House.” With 16 days left remaining, Opera House has topped its funding goal of $4,033 with almost 200 backers as of this writing. Opera House will mark Peregrine’s (Corone Design) second Kickstarter project, the first being Cabal, launched and successfully funded a decade ago back in 2016....

Aside from Soldier, the Heavy is one of the easiest classes to play as in Team Fortress 2. He doesn’t have too many subclasses, and his playstyle remains constant for all situations. The tank class’ approach is simple and straightforward. Rev-up, shoot, and be a bullet-sponge. Spray groups of enemies with the high rate-of-fire minigun; showering them with $200 custom bullets. The Heavy riddles holes in his foes and slices through hordes like fire through paper....
