According to a post on the official Stardew Valley blog on January 22, Eric Barone has submitted the 1.5 update for certification on consoles and expects it to roll out within the month. This update adds a huge amount of new content and fixes several long-term bugs in the game, much to the excitement of its fans. The 1.5 update was first released on PC on December 21, 2020. It added a considerable amount of new content, including new options to make the community center achievable in the first year, a new farm type, a new area with new NPCs, and a considerable list of new customization options for both your character and your farm....

Joshua “steel” Nissan is planning to step away from professional CS:GO in favor of Riot Games’ VALORANT, according to a report from DBLTAP. Steel has been involved in competitive Counter-Strike since the Source era, though had his career cut short after Valve issued the iBUYPOWER squad a permanent ban in 2015. Steel now stands to join many of his former iBUYPOWER teammates in a switch to professional VALORANT. Recently, Codemasters was in the process of being acquired by either Take-Two Interactive and Electronic Arts, with the latter ending up getting the developer. Take-Two planned to acquire Codemasters but the company was outbid by EA’s offer of $1.2 billion. In its recent earnings call, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick commented on the situation, saying that losing Codemasters to EA was “disappointing” yet commending EA for the success. Dontnod Entertainment’s Life is Strange put the studio on the map, establishing its reputation for delivering emotionally-charged stories with the hook of player choice driving the narrative. Dontnod’s latest game, Tell Me Why, is very much a continuation of what the studio established with its Life is Strange games, but the story it has to tell is not as engaging as that of Chloe and Max. Artificial intelligence is capable of accomplishing some truly incredible feats. Given that technology tends to progress exponentially, said feats are becoming more innumerable by the day - I mean, Microsoft just dished out $19.7 billion to bolster its AI lineup with Nuance Communications. There are some aspects of progress that are a little shadier, though. While it’s not necessarily a situation where either side is inherently wrong, I reckon the waters become pretty murky once you use a tool to leverage a professional musician or actor’s voice for your own commercial gain....

Firewatch is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, and so I finally decided to delve into this beloved indie modern classic for the first time. It was a treat - a masterclass in storytelling, atmosphere, and thrills. Subtly was key for Firewatch, and it paid in dividends. Ubisoft Massive has missed another day of daily missions in The Division, prompting outrage and confusion from fans online. The studio has yet to comment on the issue. Agents logging in to The Division yesterday hoping to find a slew of new daily challenges were left disappointed as, not for the first time, the missions failed to rotate. The lack of new daily missions has been confirmed across PC, Xbox One, and PS4, so it looks like gamers will have to sit tight and wait for their dose of new daily challenges in The Division....
