Star Citizen has become known for many things: its expansive, discoverable universe; its mixing of multiple game genres; and its record-setting crowdfunding. With so much going well, it was really only a matter of time before Star Citizen, and its developer Cloud Imperium Games, found themselves in the middle of a controversy. That controversy has now surfaced, and is the result of a letter CIG (via Robert Space Industries, a CIG subsidiary and the name of the in-game spaceship quantum drive creator) sent to one of its many backers....

The Acolyte is the most intriguing of the upcoming slate of Star Wars shows coming to Disney+ in the near future. The live-action series helmed by Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland takes place 100 years before The Phantom Menace and is described as a “mystery-thriller” that will follow a Jedi Master and their former padawan as they “investigate a series of crimes.” But it also brings the Sith into focus, according to cast member Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials)....

Today, DICE and Electronic Arts released a brand new video featuring Star Wars Battlefront 2 developers Steve Blank, a creative executive at Lucas film, and EA Motive game director, Mark Thompson, discussing the narrative elements surrounding the science fiction shooter’s main character, Commander Iden Versio. Although the clip is short, it gives fans of the franchise an interesting insight into how Lucasfilm’s writers teamed up with DICE and Motive to help bring the game’s story to life....

Electronic Arts announces it will be revealing new content tomorrow for Star Wars Battlefront, likely in response to the community completing the holiday challenge. Electronic Arts shared a cryptic tweet today on the EA Star Wars Twitter handle, telling Star Wars Battlefront players to prepare for a “cold front” on Tuesday, January 26th. Along with the simple statement is a photo of Luke Skywalker atop a Tauntaun on Hoth, with Han Solo at his side....

Exclusive rights to video game adaptations of popular franchises are a good way to make money. EA has proven that for years, simply by having a hand in Star Wars video games since 2013. That relatively young exclusivity deal with Disney was cast into doubt when Lucasfilm Games announced a new Star Wars game in development with Ubisoft’s help. At first blush, this announcement probably scared fans of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order....

In a game where the main goal is to dive to the deepest parts of an alien ocean, oxygen suddenly becomes a scarce resource. It is made even worse by the many obstacles that come up while players are down there, from ship wrecks to huge creatures. That’s why knowing every possible way to get oxygen while you’re exploring is key. Otherwise suddenly finding yourself at the game over screen becomes a lot more common....

On its official Twitter account last night, Team Ninja promised fans of Nioh 2 that new information regarding the game would be revealed soon. Set to take place on November 13, 2020, my PC loving brain wants me to believe this will be the announcement of a belated PC port. What’s more likely is that we’ll finally get some screenshots and a description of Nioh 2’s final DLC pack. There’s also a chance that with the launch of the PlayStation 5 happening a day earlier, Team Ninja could be unveiling a next-generation port of its popular Souls-like action title....

Christopher Nolan is determined to have his latest project, the mysterious Tenet, screened in theaters. That desire to have the film up on the big screen means waiting for theaters to open. Unfortunately, a resurgence in COVID-19 cases has resulted in delays to the film’s release. While many films have opted to shift to a streaming or on-demand release during this time, some large-budget blockbusters are holding out for a traditional theater release....

Ubisoft reacts quickly to the growing issue of player griefing within The Division, offering gamers a temporary solution to the current player collision problem. It’s been anything but a smooth launch for arguably the most anticipated game in early 2016, as The Division, despite setting a new day 1 sales record for Ubisoft, has had its early days marred by technical issues both inside and outside the game’s beautifully rendered New York setting....

Those that pre-order The Division 2 are able to get their hands on the Lullaby, an exotic shotgun that gives players an edge over enemies in the early portions of the game. However, the Lullaby eventually becomes useless as The Division 2 players acquire better weaponry, but some may want to upgrade it so that it stays viable in the endgame. Before players can upgrade the Lullaby in The Division 2, they will need to reach level 30....

It’s surprising to think about, but The Division 2 is well over a year old now. It’ll be celebrating its second anniversary in February 2021, and yet, as a live service game, The Division 2 is still firing on all cylinders. Substantial communities across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox continue to be supported by Massive Entertainment. In fact, support is strong enough that Massive feels so confident in continued support for The Division 2 that it’s willing to commit to upgrades on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S....

Mechanics are a core part of making any RPG work, whether that would be a tabletop pen-and-paper title or a video game. The Elder Scrolls as a series is known for its beautiful open worlds and smart usage of a few mechanics to make the world feel alive. Each game has streamlined or removed mechanics, for better or worse. Many veteran Elder Scrolls fans fear that the next entry will follow suit and remove more features....

Although the existence of a sequel to The Evil Within was confirmed by early advertisements before Bethesda was able to reveal the game at its E3 2017 conference, the studio still pulled back the curtains on the title with gusto via a slick announcement trailer. Simply titled The Evil Within 2, Bethesda aims to deliver a solid follow up to the 2014 smash hit horror that was helmed by Resident Evil alumni Shinji Mikami....
