With The Medium, Bloober Team take a clever gameplay concept and uses it to weave a psychological horror story that is one of the most polished titles released by the studio to date but doesn’t quite reach its full potential. Repetitive gameplay elements and issues with pacing bring this game down quite a bit, but espite the game’s needling flaws, it’s still worth playing, particularly for those who have enjoyed the studio’s previous work....

After all, power levels are bogus, and the animation teams tend to make some big liberties with the canon just to juice up the fights. After a lengthy drought of new single-player games set in a galaxy far, far away, EA released Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which was regarded as a great return to form for Star Wars games. The intergalactic action adventure nailed many fundamental aspects that any fan would expect from a game set within this universe with intense lightsaber combat, fantastic sound and music, and an interesting cast of characters. Unfortunately, one element that the game lacked was interesting levels that popped off the screen, a sad misstep considering how extraordinarily diverse and colorful these locations can be in the films....

You can use Qi Gems at Mr. Qi’s special shop, the Walnut Room, and buy some rare and highly valuable items from his stock. This includes the key for the town, which gives you access to most buildings at any day or time. In order to start earning Qi Gems, you first need to find a bunch of Golden Walnuts, which are all hidden in various locations around Ginger Island....
Steam might have revealed Psychonauts 2’s release date as August 25th, after changing the game’s position on its “coming soon” list. This was spotted by ResetEra user GrrImAFridge, who posted a screenshot of Psychonauts 2 on Steam’s “coming soon” list. Despite being listed as “2021”, it’s slotted between two other games releasing on August 25th, which implies that it might be releasing on that date. What makes this more interesting is that the game was originally placed on December 31st, a clear placeholder date....
Streamlabs, a popular app used by livestreamers on Twitch and Mixer, launched a macOS client in open beta today. The service has been available for Windows since 2014, but the Mac version will bring the same set of features to Apple’s suite of computers. Based partially on the open-source OBS streaming platform, Streamlabs has grown popular among internet personalities for combining professional-level streaming tools with a simple interface. The Windows version has over 20 million users, including some of Twitch’s most prominent talent like Pokimane....
Beta testing in the video game industry is a strange concept. While more developers use beta testing as early access to an almost finished product, some studios still adhere to the old school definition, letting gamers get their hands on unpolished works-in-progress. While Tell Me Why takes players on a story-based adventure, the game also features many puzzles that are well thought out, taking a slightly different avenue than Life is Strange. Because of this, players may get stuck as they follow the story of twins Alyson and Tyler as they rekindle old memories. Unlocking Mary-Ann’s door is one of the first puzzles that the player will come across, and some may need a jump start to get through the rest of the puzzles the game has to offer....

Following up on a year that included three huge titles (GTA 5, BioShock Infinite, and The Last of Us), as well as the launch of two next-gen consoles, was a tall order.
