Perhaps one of the more overlooked Star Wars-related announcements from Disney’s Investor Day concerns the upcoming Disney+ live-action series Rangers of the New Republic. Since the reveal showcased little more than a logo, that’s not entirely surprising. But fans of The Mandalorian may not want to sleep on this one. While virtually nothing is known about the series itself, one bit of info that’s set in stone is its timeline. Rangers of the New Republic will take place during the same time as The Mandalorian and Disney’s now highly anticipated series Ahsoka....

Star Wars Battlefront gameplay reveals content that hasn’t yet been shown including new modes, maps, and hero characters such as Boba Fett and Princess Leia. With Star Wars Battlefront hitting store shelves in under two weeks, new gameplay is making the rounds revealing all sorts of new locations, characters, and gameplay, never before seen in video form. Fans are getting a good look at Tatooine and the forested world of Endor, both of which are gorgeously detailed and visually impressive along with a few new modes which have only been previously written about....

The Street Fighter V beta has been data-mined and three previously unannounced characters have been revealed, though only one of them is a familiar face. Betas givith and betas taketh away. The internet has slipped its claws into the ongoing Street Fighter V PC beta, data-mining all of those juicy unannounced details from the game’s hidden code. Specifically, data-miners have been able to uncover the complete Street Fighter V roster. Previously said to be limited to 16, the now revealed roster appears to include 17 individual fighters....

It’s the year 2007, and the Wii and DS are Nintendo’s main consoles. In its newest 3D entry into the Italian platformer giant, menus are operated with motion controls, because simply using the analog stick wouldn’t show off the Wii’s gimmick. But now it’s 2020, and people had hoped for this to be toned down for the Switch port. Yet it failed to deliver, opting to turn the joy-cons into Wii remotes....

Nintendo fans in the USA – particularly in Florida – received some bad news today regarding progress on Super Nintendo World’s opening at Universal Studios Orlando. The condensed version of the Japanese theme park won’t be opening in Florida until at least 2025 due to the COVID -19 pandemic. We can’t blame this one on Bowser, as it seems more time is needed to re-hire crews that were put on pause because of the public health situation....

In Death: Unchained only came out last week, yet developer Superbright has already released updates and plans for new content. In Death: Unchained is a virtual reality game for the Oculus Quest gaming system. The title features gameplay centered around rogue-lite bow and arrow battles in a beautifully imagined version of the afterlife. Your mission is to restore Harmony by fighting your way through Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory against the creatures and departed souls that have infested the afterlife....

There’s currently ten DLC fighters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate; assuming you include the free Piranha Plant and count doubled up characters like Pyra and Mythra as one. There’s two more characters set to arrive in the second Fighters Pass, although a recent datamine suggests a third Fighters Pass is on the way afterwards. I really hope that’s true, not because I particularly care about my favourites making the cut, but because speculation about who is going to get in and who isn’t is one of my favourite things in gaming right now....

Like its young heroes Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, the Narnia franchise has grown up in the shadow of older, more successful and better looking siblings. Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings adaptations had been out driving cars, smoking fags and doing stuff to girls for a good couple of years before Andrew Adamson’s Chronicles of Narnia films showed up in the film equivalent of a Christian Youth t-shirt clutching a handful of Warhammer figurines....

I didn’t get it. When Ron Howard’s The Da Vinci Code took the world by storm in 2006, I was far from being a professional critic, but I could still be highly critical of something like this. It was an adaptation of the biggest literary phenomenon of the decade not starring Harry Potter, and it was arriving in cinemas with the kind of media frenzy usually reserved for Star Wars. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remains beloved by fans to this very day. However, no game is ever perfect. The Elder Scrolls VI is still just a dream in the mind of gamers, but in the meantime we can discuss how Bethesda can improve on the next game in the series and what went wrong with previous games. There were many shared complaints about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim by gamers; notably the limited bestiary and drab color palette. It’s safe to say a lot of the changes made to the series between Oblivion and Skyrim were not welcomed by fans....

The Flash producer Barbara Muschietti participated in a fan Q&A session during the second day of Warner Bros.’ DC FanDome event. During the session, Muschietti addressed the rumor suggesting the Ezra Miller superhero film will restart the DC Extended Universe film series. While Warner Bros.’ DC Extended Universe film franchise has enjoyed critical or financial success with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam!, the rest of the DCEU library has not fared as well with audiences or at the box office....

Has anything as surprisingly awesome as John Wick come out in recent memory? The first film has what sounds like an almost comical premise: A retired hitman’s puppy is killed and his car stolen by Russian mobsters. John Wick must then kill a lot of people (emphasis on “a lot”) in order to take vengeance and get his sweet ride back. It’s simple, adrenaline-packed, expertly paced, and an absolute joy to behold, especially upon the first viewing....
