It’s been a long time since Konami’s classic Suikoden franchise received a new entry, but several of the series’ key developers are set to provide fans with the next best thing: a spiritual successor called Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. What’s more, with enough money, this ode to classic PlayStation-era JRPGs will be available to play on next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 5. As announced last week, a Kickstarter campaign for Eiyuden Chronicle went live today and has already managed to surpass its base goal of $500,000, having earned around $691,000 as of this writing....

The results of this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) Gaming Awards are in. The winners for each of the twelve categories were decided both by the public, as well as the staff of the SXSW Gaming Awards and its advisory board. The event was held online due to the COVID-19 situation, and it showed segments of behind-the-scenes work for some of the games. Despite the series not having been active for half a decade, and its best days having been over for well over ten years, Silent Hill is still the only horror series gamers think of. Resident Evil morphed into an action franchise, which leaves Silent Hill as our go-to source for gaming horror. While the series seems to be dead and buried now, there were at least enough horror moments available for us to remember them fondly by....
Batman may well be the world’s greatest detective but his fans aren’t far behind as one BatFan managed to solve the Riddler’s code seen briefly in The Batman teaser released during DC’s Fandome online event. The code, which appears roughly 45 seconds into the teaser, is written inside a greeting card presumably sent by the Riddler, asking “What does a liar do when they’re dead?” followed by a series of cryptic symbols....

Yesterday, after two years of waiting, we finally got some Elden Ring gameplay footage. And by ‘we’, I mean ‘you’. Publisher and developer Ubisoft reveals that the open beta for its military shooter The Division brings 6.4 million players to the game over the weekend. With roughly 6.4 million players taking part in Ubisoft’s open beta for The Division from Friday, February 19 through Sunday, February 21, it’s obvious that plenty of fans are interested in the forthcoming open world title. For those unaware, the test for the game took place on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (it went live on Microsoft’s console a day earlier than other systems) but the studio didn’t provide in-depth details regarding which platform garnered the most gamers....
As Ubisoft’s The Division continues to struggle with a number of frustrating bugs and glitches, it appears at least one of those problems will be going away soon. It can be hard for both fans and developers when a hype train that had picked up so much steam prior to a game’s release derails almost immediately after said game becomes available. Gamers who were looking forward to The Division have seen their enthusiasm tempered and then marred by The Division’s missing daily missions and assortment of other glitches, while Ubisoft has been forced to backpedal in an attempt to address the many bugs its development team missed prior to releasing the controversial title....
