Gaming’s relationship with difficulty has changed considerably over the years. As the medium became more mainstream in the 90s and early 2000s, developers started to stray away from the level of challenge that defined the arcade era and subsequent home consoles. T1 have won their third consecutive and ninth overall LCK title by sweeping Gen.G in the spring finals. Jungler Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan was named the most valuable player of the series. Grand Theft Auto 5 may be seen as one of the best choices for modders to work with, given the game’s natural freedom and endless possibilities of play. According to various reports, source code for both Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive have leaked online. The code is at least a couple of years old and was reportedly posted on 4chan. In any case, it’s being recommended that Steam users avoid playing games like Counter-Strike: GO and Team Fortress 2 for the time being, as they will potentially be putting their PC at risk by doing so....

Telltale Games is now in the final stages of its closure as the studio liquidates its assets and pulls certain games off digital sales platforms. Earlier in September, Telltale Games abruptly laid off most of its workforce and announced that the studio would begin shutting down. Despite a library of award-winning games, the studio evidently was in a far worse financial position than anyone had ever realized. When company execs failed to secure outside sources of funding, the board decided it was time to close up shop rather....

There are few fighting game franchises with Tekken’s longevity and consistent popularity. The series has sold over 50 million copies and even has a movie in the works! There isn’t a fan of the fighting game genre that doesn’t know about Tekken. Design teams always try to balance all the characters in their roster but sometimes they come up short and make overpowered characters. Tekken is no exception to this rule....

The PlayStation 4 has a large array of exclusive games with unique storylines and a variety of settings. Most of them are story-heavy, which leads to many well-developed, flawed, and round characters. These characters are based on their depth and likability so someone like Astro Bot, who is mostly a mascot, does not make the cut. Some characters, on the other hand, fall in the line of being static, boring, or plain annoying....

Among Us is the latest viral sensation in the gaming world. Thanks to a mixture of Twitch streamers playing the game and people’s desire to connect with friends while socially distancing in 2020, Among Us has skyrocketed in popularity since August. This party game was published and developed by indie team Innersloth and can be played with 4-10 players online (or via local WiFi). Depending on the settings players choose, there is at least one imposter among a team of crewmates, who are trying to do tasks to prepare the spaceship for take-off....

I’ve played through Red Dead Redemption 2 three times now, and Arthur Morgan might just be my favourite new character of the last decade. There’s so much to love about him, whether that’s the way he roots for the outsiders, his complex sensitivity, or Roger Clark’s sublime performance. I love it all. While it was well-received at launch, time hasn’t been kind to Skyward Sword’s reputation.
