Well before Destiny hit store shelves, Bungie made a promise that their upcoming shooter would offer unique hand-crafted loot to each of its players. They said that each weapon would serve as a conversation piece, generating questions like “Where did you get that,” and, “How good is that gun?” Then we actually played Destiny and found that was not really the case. Sure, Destiny may not be overwrought with unique weapons, but it still has plenty of interestingly designed ones....

Lance McDonald, a FromSoftware insider and creator of the 60fps patch for Bloodborne, has debunked a rumour stating that a sequel to Bloodborne is in development. The debunking comes from a Tweet made by Lance McDonald, which linked to a story on GamesRadar+ that discussed the rumours surrounding Velvet Veil, a supposed sequel to Bloodborne. In his Tweet debunking the rumour Lance said, “In case you didn’t feel like looking into it, this is complete fiction....

The science fiction of Stanislaw Lem has become deeply ingrained in the modern world. From speculation on the technology of microrobotics to the concept of transhumanism, where humanity can supersede itself through the use or abuse of hard science, Lem’s philosophies are as potent now as they were when The Invincible was published in 1964. So it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that Polish studio Starward Industries — which hails from Lem’s own Krakow — is currently collaborating with the Lem estate on a video game adaptation of that novel....

There are many moments where both Ellie and Abby are in the wrong in The Last of Us Part II. Both of these characters lose a lot in their quest for vengeance. The game does a great job of showing everything someone could lose in the cycle of revenge. Ellie and Abby both have very strong character arcs that lead to a tragic finale. The two of them are alike in many ways and both have flaws that cause them to take things too far and put their loved ones in danger....

There’s no denying that the amount of Pokémon we have now is getting a little out of hand. There are almost one thousand different species now, and they’re all mega evolving, z-move-ing, and busting out other fancy new mechanics everywhere you freaking look. It’s chaos. Some of the newer designs may be a little questionable, as the designers battle to find things they haven’t already done before. If there’s any positive you’d expect from this situation, though, it’s that battling should be becoming increasingly varied; there are more and more Pokémon to choose from after all....

It’s easy to tell that the Saiyans are the stars of the show in Dragon Ball games, as they have access to a host of powerups and two of them happen to be the main characters. Despite this, certain games with character creation elements have opted to let players choose from a number of races instead of just Saiyans. Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a great example of this, as it gives players a choice between five different options, but even this is somewhat lackluster given the size of Dragon Ball Super’s multiverse....
