Some recent news out of EA regarding the state of Anthem has some fans concerned that the publisher might be ready to pull the plug on the online title. This comes ahead of the promised Anthem 2.0 overhaul that BioWare had promised to fix many of the game’s issues, making good on the hype that had preceded its launch in 2019. Now that EA is suggested to be on the fence about the future of Anthem, this might be a good time to look back at the current state of the game and see what is worth keeping, and what should be changed or scrapped entirely....

The Fall, a 2014 action-adventure and side-scrolling platformer by indie developer Over the Moon, is free this week on the Epic Games Store. An improved port of the game was released for the Nintendo Switch in May 2018. The action-packed game features story, puzzles, and high-voltage action. Players take on the role of ARID, the AI onboard a mark-7 combat suit. The human pilot in the suit is unconscious, so players must find a way to revive them....

Just weeks after the fan collective Apeiron announced that a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake is underway, gameplay footage of the project surfaces on YouTube. The gaming world was sent into a state of frenzy a few months ago when rumors surfaced that a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake may be in the works. Capcom announced this morning that Street Fighter V, its current big-ticket fighting game, will be getting one final season of DLC soon. The online security and privacy company Surfshark has released a study exploring which games have the most cheaters. The investigation used data from Google and YouTube to determine which multiplayer titles have the greatest risk of hacking and where it occurs most often. Cheating is a factor in video games that many players have come to accept over the years. From looking at a friend’s screen to using GameShark, methods can involve strategies ranging from benign to game breaking....

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a much stranger compilation of games than most other remakes and remasters of classic games. The original Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES included full recreations of past games, but this newer compilation comes with a slightly updated edition of Super Mario 64, alongside nearly-identical versions of Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. All three of these games are certainly more like light remasters rather than total remakes, with the main feature being their updated resolutions....

Tadpole Treble Encore is swimming its way to Nintendo Switch next week with a new stage and more unlockables to collect. At first, it looks like a Mario Paint clone, but if you glimpse deeper, Tadpole Treble Encore features an action-based rhythm gameplay style. You move as a little tadpole trying to make its way home in a sheet music-style level. The game has dozens of songs available, and even includes six fully vocal songs that, according to the developer, remind you of the animated musicals you grew up on....

One talented gamer has successfully recreated the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opening sequence in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Any fan of Nintendo’s latest Animal Crossing instalment who grew up watching the original Ninja Turtles will be positively tickled by this one. YouTuber swerpee is the culprit responsible for funnelling a significant amount of time and effort into crafting this faithful recreation of the ’90s cartoon classic. Tempoross has finally surfaced in Old School RuneScape, giving you a new way to level up your Fishing skill. The watery boss will be available to all members with at least level 35 Fishing and can be found by traveling to the Sea Spirit Dock just south of Al Kharid. Tempoross in OSRS is meant to provide an “accessible, social encounter as an alternative to the current hands-off leveling methods,” according to Jagex....

Terraria’s Summoner class has always been a strange one. It didn’t get much love until the 1.4 Journey’s End update, but with the introduction of Whips and other new summoning items, it is, at last, a viable build to tackle Terraria with. Playing as a Summoner poses a unique challenge but offers plenty of advantages over the other classes. It also has a couple of downsides, mostly that it’s tricky to play in the early game....
