The innovations that the Final Fantasy franchise has brought to the RPG genre is immeasurable. Nearly all of the titles are standouts, but Final Fantasy 6 is an especially important and unique entry in the series. The growing relationship between Microsoft and Nintendo has led to speculation that a representative from the Xbox brand could be chosen as a DLC character in Super Smash Bros. A major new expansion is set to release for The Elder Scrolls: Legends later this month. The update is titled Houses of Morrowind, which indicates that the focus of the new expansion will center on the northeast corner of Tamriel. As expected, the expansion will include new cards and should hopefully give fans a deeper look at Morrowind. Bethesda announced that The Elder Scrolls: Legends players will be transported to Vvardenfall and experience a new range of creatures and wildernesses in this new update, which releases on March 29th....

It is safe to say that no other Elder Scrolls game has come close to offering the same alien and bizarre experience that the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind gave us. Its unique representation of the land of the Dark Elves is unparalleled by other single-player RPGs and part of this is thanks to the dynamics of the different factions. One of these factions is the Mages Guild of Vvanderfell. It’s notably more interesting and turbulent than the Mages Guilds seen in Cyrodiil or Skyrim because of their internal and external conflicts and power struggles....

My favourite episode of Game of Thrones is The Battle of the Bastards from season six. Aside from that, every episode I remember by name is from the first four seasons of HBO’s fantasy behemoth. I’m thinking of Baelor from season one, Blackwater from season two, The Rains of Castamere from season three, and, well… basically every episode from season four. While people often talk about The Lion and the Rose, The Mountain and the Viper, and The Watchers on the Wall, my favourite episode from season four will always be The Laws of Gods and Men - where Tyrion demands a trial by combat after delivering the best soliloquy in television history....

You could watch this episode completely independently, as a bridge between season two of The Mandalorian and the upcoming season three. The shift shines an even bigger light on Boba’s lack of an arc within his own show, but it’s hard to complain when Bryce Dallas Howard‘s direction on the usual Jon Favreau script brings so much entertainment....

Ever since DICE and Electronic Arts put out the Death Star DLC teaser trailer which hinted at the possibility of actual space battles in Star Wars Battlefront, fans of the science fiction shooter have been on the edges of their seats in anticipation for any additional information about the expansion pack....

Undead Labs reveals that State of Decay 3 isn’t in full development, suggesting that fans could be waiting quite some time before they get to play it. The developer announced State of Decay 3 with a new trailer shown as part of the Xbox Games Showcase event. In a post to the official State of Decay Twitter, State of Decay 3 developer Undead Labs said that while it is “excited about the announcement of the new game,” it is only in “early pre-production....

According to the developers for Ubisoft’s Steep, the open world extreme sport video game requires an Internet connection for play, and supports up to 4 players in co-op. Prior to this year’s E3 extravaganza, game publisher and developer Ubisoft declared that it would be unveiling a new franchise ahead of the event, which has now resulted in the company’s showing of the Alpine-inspired winter sports title known as Steep. As a matter of fact, the fresh IP received prime billing during Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, as it was featured toward the end of the company’s showcase to give fans a look at the open world game’s competitive challenges and emphasis on online multiplayer....

With just a little less than two more months to go until the release of Firefly Studio’s latest castle-sim addition Stronghold: Warlords, the studio has recently released another deep dive look into the upcoming game in the Trebuchets, Mortars & Ballista (Siege Weapon Reveal!) video. Unless PETA watches the latest video and intervenes, Stronghold: Warlords is currently scheduled for a January 26, 2021 release date. The Tales of series has been quiet on for a while, but very soon, Tales of Arise will have a surge of news. British game studio Brightdog Games recently announced its upcoming tabletop RPG campaign setting Tales of Esgar for the 5th Edition of the world’s most popular roleplaying game. The studio will be launching the Tales of Esgar Kickstarter campaign sometime in 2021. Team Bondi, the Australian Studio that teamed with Rockstar for LA Noire, spoke with PSM3 in a recent issue about upcoming projects and a peek inside their creative minds.
