It has been a rocky road for EA, DICE, and Star Wars fans when it comes to Battlefront II. The game started as a major disappointment, with loot boxes, a short campaign, and a slew of other issues irritating fans, despite the quality of the campaign. Since then, though, Battlefront has morphed into a fantastic game. Nevertheless, a lot of fans still prefer the original two Battlefront games and clamor to see one game mode, in particular, make its way to the new game, that being galactic conquest....

UPDATE: EA’s official Star Wars Twitter account shared that details on Star Wars: Squadrons will be revealed on Monday, June 15th at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time on https://youtu.be/w0eRkhR1z6A. Someone at Microsoft just spoiled one of EA’s announcements for next week. In a post on the Xbox website this morning, Star Wars: Squadrons was revealed to the public before being quickly removed. VentureBeat was fast on the trigger and happened to catch a bunch of details around this mysterious new title....

Stardew Valley’s newest update, 1.5, has just rolled out for PC users and it is massive. According to the blog post, console users will have access soon enough with developers aiming for an early 2021 release. This update is all about beaches and the tropics, adding a brand new farm with plenty of fishing opportunities, new fruits, cosmetics, builds, quality of life changes galore, and even split-screen co-op. The biggest part of this update by far, however, is the inclusion of a new region, the Ginger Island....

Eric Barone’s Stardew Valley is one of the bigger indie game success stories in the industry, with the farming and life-simulation title boasting a huge playerbase and continual updates since it released in 2016. The upcoming Stardew Valley Update 1.5 will add a “Beach Farm” and more according to Barone, but anyone impatiently waiting for its release date to be announced can find a lot of fan projects, including mods, to occupy their time....

A new Steam experiment is revamping the platform’s browsing options, which makes finding new titles a more concise and organized experience. The Steam Labs update also features a section explicitly labeled for games involving sex. Valve’s PC gaming service regularly adds experimental options in order to discover ways of fine-tuning the platform. For example, the company recently introduced a Steam playtest feature for early game testing, allowing developers to freely launch their own playtests....

Since first receiving widespread attention and acclaim for the first season of The Walking Dead in 2012, Telltale Games has been working on building up a strong catalogue of episodes choice and consequence games. Upcoming titles include Game of Thrones, Borderlands tie-in Tales from the Borderlands, and (at some point) a third season of The Walking Dead. Game of Thrones is set for release later this year and will break the current tradition of Telltale’s games by having six episodes instead of five, and by putting players in the shoes of five different playable characters rather than a single protagonist....

Tencent Games hosted its annual conference on June 27, and during the conference, the company announced a new game in a cyberpunk style. While the game’s official name hasn’t been disclosed, the project is code named “SYN.” The Tencent conglomerate has its hands in many gaming development companies such as Riot Games, Epic Games, and Grinding Gear Games, the company that developed the game Path of Exile. While Tencent hasn’t made many games outside of its holdings, the company hosts popular multiplayer online games and created the WeGames platform that’s heavily used in Asian countries....

Modding, once relegated to the gaming underground, has become an essential cornerstone of practically any video game fandom. So much so that titanic industry forces like Bethesda now launch their flagship titles with mod support built in, and forward thinking companies like Valve have actively recruited modders to build entire games around their creations. The original modding community formed following the release of Doom way back in 1993. Believe it or not, it’s still thriving today, thanks largely to modern clients like Zandronum....

The Persona franchise is very successful for a variety of reasons and as time goes on, it only gets better. Whether this is the graphics, the storylines or even just the small details that make all the difference. One thing most audiences can agree on is that the characters only get better with each new game. Persona 5 is arguably the best game in the series to date and the new characters make the old ones look like so much less....

The Batman returns in 2021, but before director Matt Reeves’ new take on the Dark Knight hits theaters, we’re getting a first look at the movie at this weekend’s DC FanDome digital event. What should you expect to see during The Batman segment of the show? At the very least some early footage from the film, part of which had already been shot before production was shut down at the height of the coronavirus pandemic....

Netflix recently released the last batch of episodes for season four of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Netflix canceled the series in July, so unless another network picks it up (which seems unlikely, as it’s usually Netflix doing the saving) then fans will have to look elsewhere for some closure. Fortunately, the series is set to continue in comic book form, but fans will be expecting rather a lot from it as the end of the TV series left a lot of plot holes and unanswered questions....

For most of the six episode run time of The Devil’s Hour, created by Tom Moran and co-exec produced by Steven Moffat and Sue Vertue, it is not entirely clear what the hell is even going on. Lucy (Jessica Raine) is having nightmares about things that never happened and visions of tragedies yet to occur. Her son Isaac is a strange little boy who repeats back things said to him, has multiple imaginary friends and displays no emotion ever – he’s not autistic, he’s not schizophrenic and the latest in the line of doctors working with Lucy and Isaac (played by Meera Syal) doesn’t know what’s wrong with him either....

The developers at Ubisoft Massive deploy a fix for the double UI bug on the PlayStation 4 version of its third-person shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division. While Tom Clancy’s The Division recently gave fans a bevy of new features with Update 1.2, including more rewarding loot drops, High Value Targets, and an exciting element of surprise with the ability to hijack items in the Dark Zone, it also invited yet another plague of bugs to the action-MMO....

The Division’s Update 1.1 patch releases, but instead of accessing the new Incursions content, some gamers are reporting that their Agents have been deleted. The Division has seen its share of bugs since its launch, but the latest one is leaving many gamers extremely upset. The latest patch is apparently having an unintended consequence, deleting gamers’ agents entirely from the game. Posting to The Division subreddit, one player of The Division on Xbox One complained that his character, with 150 hours of play time, simply vanished after installing The Division’s Update 1....

But Nirn is gigantic, and consists of far more than humanity. Without further ado, let’s look at 10 nations - within and beyond Tamriel - that will hopefully be the settings of future Elder Scrolls games....

Bethesda has been one of the most successful RPG companies of the past decade and broke records with the critical and commercial success of games like Skyrim, which sold 20 million copies between 2011 and 2014. Over the last few years, however, disappointments like Fallout 76 have made the success of the studio’s flagship franchise in The Elder Scrolls 6 more important than ever. Geoff Keighley revealed the list, which is a brand new addition for the 2020 Game Awards, along with a special painting created as a tribute to the class.
