Looks like HBO’s television adaptation of the Last of Us is beginning to take shape. Russian filmmaker Kantemir Balagov has been tapped to direct the pilot for the post-apocalyptic series. It was previously announced that Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and the game’s director Neil Druckman would be co-creating the series for HBO. Balagov, who is most known for his somber Russian films, is stepping in for director Johan Renck. Having worked with Mazin on the successful Chernobyl, Renck seemed a likely candidate for the project, but unfortunately could not commit due to scheduling conflicts....

Star Wars’ Disney+ spin-off series, The Mandalorian, proved to be a massive success when it premiered in 2019, with The Child, aka Baby Yoda, being responsible for at least some of its popularity. The first game in the Star Ocean series is being remade for the second time, as Star Ocean First Departure R has been announced for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Star Ocean was released for the Super Famicom in 1996, but it would not see an official English release until it was remade as Star Ocean First Departure for the PlayStation Portable in 2008. The original Star Ocean contained a special chip that only ever appeared in one other game (Street Fighter Alpha 2) that allowed the cartridge to store more data than the average Super Nintendo game....
