Undertale and Outriders were already confirmed for Xbox Game Pass, but a slew of other games have just been announced from Yakuza 6 to Star Wars Squadrons to Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. Undertale is available today on PC, cloud, and Xbox, while Empire of Sin will be coming to these mediums as well in two days on March 18. Nier: Automata will be expanding from Xbox to PC on the same day alongside Torchlight 3....

They say “all that glitters is not golden”, but in the case of Stardew Valley, it usually is gold. This is absolutely the case with the Golden Scythe, a tool introduced in version 1.4 of the game that is a big improvement on the original Scythe. Unlike most other tools in the game (e.g. the Watering Can and Axe), the Scythe cannot be upgraded by the Blacksmith, meaning its radius and power were quite inferior until the Golden Scythe’s addition....

Steam’s annual Winter sale is expected to begin tomorrow, December 22, at 1 PM ET, ending on January 5. This is in line with the Steam Awards, which will have final nominees announced for each category starting tomorrow until January 3. What games will be on sale isn’t known just yet but expect there to be plenty up for grabs. Right now, it’s unclear if Valve will join in on the festivities of free games like Epic but, hopefully, they will - after all, the main selling point of competing PC digital stores is to drive competition, and we all win if freebies are handed out like candy at Halloween....

Streets of Rage 4 developer Dotemu is working on three new unannounced projects, according to a recent Reddit AMA. If you’re a fan of beat-’em-ups, then you need to go get Streets of Rage 4 right now. It’s available on all major consoles as well as PC via Steam, Humble Bundle, and GOG. You can even get it on the Nintendo Switch. Streets of Rage 4 only just came out but it’s already on our shortlist for one of the best games of 2020....

According to Geoff Keighley, the executive producer and host of The Game Awards, Summer Game Fest will be less than one month long this year. Last year, Keighley presented Summer Game Fest, which featured live streams hosted by developers and publishers, from May to August 2020 in lieu of the cancellation of E3 and Gamescom. Simultaneously, Keighley promoted the third Steam Game Festival, which ran from June 16 through June 22, 2020, following the cancellation of the 2020 Game Developers Conference....

One of the most popular fan requests for a character addition to the Super Smash Bros. series is Goku from the Dragon Ball franchise, but he likely will never make it into the game as long as Masahiro Sakurai is in charge. Masahiro Sakurai is the creator of the Super Smash Bros. series, but he also writes columns for Famitsu magazine. Sakurai recently released a book that compiled his articles from 2015 to 2019, which included new content related to the development of Super Smash Bros....

Whenever a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character is announced, one of the big questions that then starts being asked is what the accompanying Mii Fighter costumes will be. In the past, the new costumes have been capable of generating just as much excitement/disappointment as the actual fighters. While they can be perceived as a compromise, allowing otherwise impossible characters to join the roster in some way, it’s not quite the same as them being their own unique playable fighter, with the likes of Sans from Undertale and Geno from Super Mario RPG being included in this way....

Batman: The Telltale Series was yet another example of Telltale biting off more than it could chew.
