According to an official announcement from the video game publisher and developer Bethesda, the company’s MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online will be getting a free to play week on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting tomorrow from from 7:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM ET / 3:00 PM BST on April 11, 2017, and all the way through April 18, 2017. While this is great news for those who are looking to give the game a go, it’s important to note that the week long trial will only be available for the title’s base game, and excludes any expansions....

It’s hardly a hot take to compare Brad Bird’s animated feature The Incredibles with Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ graphic novel Watchmen, because parallels were drawn between the two as soon as the Pixar movie hit theaters in 2004. If there’s one distinction between the two, it’s that Moore’s comic is a deconstruction of the superhero myth for grownups and Bird’s movie is a deconstruction of the same myth for children....

Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro could be set to get a big Dynamic Island upgrade in 2025, if a new report claiming that Face ID changes are afoot is anything to go by. Apple might have only released the iPhone 14 lineup a few months ago but that isn’t stopping the company from getting ready for the next-but-one model. That would be the 2025 iPhone 16 series, with a new report saying that the pro models will feature under-display Face ID technology....

During the PlayStation showcase at Paris Games Week, Sony revealed a brutal new trailer for The Last of Us Part Two. The trailer was dramatic and violent and surprised many fans, but it also raised an important question: who are these new characters? Naughty Dog has now shed more light on these new The Last of Us 2 characters and who plays them in several posts on Twitter. The character whose wings are being “clipped” is Yara, who is played by Victoria Grace (Famous In Love)....

A workforce of well over 2,000 people was necessary to make The Last of Us Part II, which shouldn’t be that huge of a surprise given the game’s sheer quality. The Naughty Dog title dropped for the PlayStation 4 on June 19 as a Sony exclusive and, while reviews have been mixed, there’s no doubting the aesthetics. Say what you will about the story, but the 2020 sequel of the 2013 release is absolutely amazing if we’re talking about the graphics, build, and lifelike properties....

This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers for “The Sanctuary.” After the hugely nostalgic trip to Ni’Var in “Unification III,” you’d think that Discovery might be briefly done with a ton of callbacks to previous eras of Trek. With Episode 8, “Sanctuary,” that guess is partially correct. When Burnham and Book hit-up Book’s home planet of Kwejian, the vast majority of what happens on that planet doesn’t have roots in old Trek canon, because, Kwejian — at least for Burnham — is a strange new world....

While not necessarily bad, the newest Star Wars trilogy certainly divided many fans. The ongoing saga was supposed to ring in a new era of surefire blockbusters and print money for the House of Mouse. Instead, it left many fans feeling confused and in some cases unenthusiastic about the future of the franchise. The newest trilogy might be the most technically accomplished in terms of special effects, but also had missteps that prevented it from feeling like a cohesive whole....

Director Deborah Chow and her team seemingly chose traditional make-up over digitally de-aging Christensen and Ewan McGregor for the scene where master and apprentice spar more than a decade before the events of the new Disney+ series....

This Star Wars: The Bad Batch article contains spoilers. Rumors of a big cameo surrounded The Bad Batch in the days leading up to its eighth episode and “Reunion” doesn’t disappoint. The show has thus far worn its ties to The Clone Wars on its sleeve, down to its very protagonists, characters who were first formally introduced in season 7 of the Prequel era-set animated series. But it’s this cameo that solidifies The Bad Batch‘s place as a straight up sequel to The Clone Wars....

Electronic Arts has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to appear during the publisher’s E3 2017 event, EA Play, and as such fans of the Battlefront series of games have been left wondering exactly what EA has planned. Thanks to a few supposed leaks, however, gamers may be able to go into the event with a little more knowledge than the publisher would have hoped for. The leaks come courtesy of Reddit user Some Info, who took to the site at first to divulge some information about the EA Play plans in particular....

Studio Wildcard announced Ark 2 during The Game Awards tonight. The game is a sequel to the massively popular survival-crafting game Ark: Survival Evolved and will star Vin Diesel. The sequel was revealed in an extended cinematic trailer that featured a prehistoric Vin Diesel in a life or death battle against orc-like creatures and dinosaurs. DIesel’s character outruns the dinosaur and rescues a young girl — the only survivor of his tribe....

Custom Move Sets, a feature introduced in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, will not return for Ultimate. According to GameSpot, a Nintendo representative stated this, and that equippable items will likewise not return. Customs allowed players to mix and match fighter abilities. For example, Mario can shoot a gigantic, slow-moving fireball, or a weak little fireball that moves at an incredible speed. One of Pac-Man’s customs is instead of his hydrant shooting out water, it shoots out fire instead....

The Nintendo 3DS had some amazing apps, but one of its best had a sad ending, as horrific real-life actions resulted in the death of Swapnote. Nintendo’s online outings for its handheld systems technically started with the DS, but the online connectivity of the DS was awful. It wasn’t until the Nintendo 3DS that Nintendo really managed to get a handle on its online outings, especially when coupled with the much-missed StreetPass service that let people share data when passing other 3DS users on the street....

The System Shock remaster is finally drawing close to release as Nightdive Studios has updated its Kickstarter page to note a release date and updated demo for the revamped 1994 classic title. Concerns have been voiced for the title that was originally scheduled to release in December 2017, as a seemingly endless number of delays have flustered and frustrated fans. Now, Nightdive Studios looks ready to finally reveal what it has crafted with the $1....

Some truly sad news came from the world of competitive Overwatch yesterday as Team Envy, one of the biggest names in esports and the organization behind the Dallas Fuel, announced the release of their entire Overwatch Contenders roster. This is just the latest bad news coming from North America Contenders as players and academy teams have been pulling out like crazy lately. Team Envy has a long history in competitive Overwatch....

Seth Goldman loved Hollow Knight, a 2D action-platformer on Steam with “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews, and a Metacritic “Must Play” on Nintendo Switch. Australian indie studio Team Cherry developed the surprise hit and rewarded their fans with substantial direct contact on the creation of their second outing, Hollow Knight: Silksong. While looking forward to Silksong, Goldman learned that he had Ewing Sarcoma - an aggressive form of cancer that can metastasize from bone to lungs, spine, and other bones and soft tissues....

Terminator and John Connor can be found in Cyberpunk 2077, but other than the accompanying shard, you won’t get much information out of them. Cyberpunk 2077 has had a pretty rough start to life. Unless you play the game on PC, chances are you’ve run into a number of bugs and problems. CD Projekt has admitted it didn’t focus as much attention on the current-gen version of the game, and so many people playing on PlayStation requested refunds that it was eventually removed from the PS Store....
