Following the blockbuster success of 1984’s Ghostbusters and its less well-received yet still financially winning 1989 follow-up, Ghostbusters II, a third film in the franchise should’ve been inevitable. So why didn’t happen for more than 30 years? While offshoots like the Ghostbusters video games, comic books and especially the animated series The Real Ghostbusters (1986-1991) kept the brand alive, and even thriving to some extent over the years, it was 27 years before a new theatrical film–Paul Feig’s much-maligned all-female reboot in 2016–arrived in theaters....

The Halo Infinite delay is certainly unfortunate, but it will almost certainly result in a special edition Xbox Series X relaunch later in 2021. In case you hadn’t heard, Halo Infinite isn’t going to come out this winter as initially planned. Instead of launching alongside the Xbox Series X, Microsoft’s fancy new console, it’ll come out sometime in 2021. For Halo fans, that sucks. We get it. The Last of Us Part 2 will primarily take place in Seattle, Washington, and Naughty Dog has decided to provide a breakdown as to why exactly that is. The Last of Us Part 2 Director, Neil Drunkmann, discussed the topic in an interview with IGN. He primarily wanted to get across just how much the setting impacted the story and its gameplay. According to Drunkmann, one of the reasons Naughty Dog picked Seattle was because of its various locations....

Due to COVID-19’s effect on television production, CBS has rearranged its early fall schedule to add several older shows to its prime-time lineup which were previously exclusive to other related networks. This includes the first season of Star Trek: Discovery, the fourth season of Justina Machado’s One Day at a Time, and the Spectrum original miniseries Manhunt: Deadly Games. While CBS still plans to air its fall lineup, many of its regular scripted hour-long dramas have suffered big production delays from the pandemic....

Following the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta, fans accused the game’s loot boxes of being pay to win. Players said that the ability to buy gameplay-affecting loot boxes was massively unfair and gave those with more disposable income a clear advantage over everyone else. Canadian Twitch streamer and YouTuber Noel Miller defied all odds by winning his gulag fight in Call of Duty: Warzone – only using a steering wheel and foot pedals. The controls for the popular FPS didn’t translate well at all, rendering Noel completely incapable of aiming. This didn’t stop the streamer however, as he managed to strafe his way into a corner and shotgun hit opponent down, successfully escaping the gulag....

By and large, Street Fighter 5 will retain much of what has made the fighting game series so popular. But it will also introduce a variety of changes such as the new V-Gauge. With the V-Gauge, Street Fighter 5 players can use three new techniques to get the upper hand on their opponent including V-Triggers (a unique ability), V-Skills (special attacks unique to each fighter), and V-Reversals (players can use the V-Gauge to counter an enemy’s attack)....

Super Holobunnies: Pause Café - from indie developer q-bit games and publisher Nkidu Games - is an upcoming arcade platformer releasing on June 6th for Nintendo Switch. Don’t let the look of the adorable holographic bunnies fool you, though. They pack a pretty mean punch (and an apparent arsenal of weapons). Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song, which turns 50 this month, is the opposite of the definition imposed on it. The 1971 film inspired the Blaxploitation genre, but Melvin Van Peebles exploited no one but himself. The indie-developed RPG platformer Indivisible has gained a large amount of traction within the gaming community, so much so that Lab Zero Games was able to develop a Nintendo Switch port of Indivisible, which launched earlier today. The port surprised many, including the lead developer, as the Switch port was not supposed to release today. Indivisible is one of the most popular indie games of 2019. After years of development, the game was finally picked up by publisher 505 Games and was released in October of 2019....

Tesla will be constructing a new factory to assist with manufacturing more Cybertrucks, one of the company’s recently announced vehicles, as well as other Tesla products. Dubbed “GigaTexas,” the factory will be constructed 15 minutes from downtown Austin, Texas. According to Elon Musk, the factory will be an “ecological paradise,” including a hiking and biking trail with “birds in the trees” and “fish in the stream.” Additionally, the factory will be open to the public....
