Disney+ offers an increasingly tantalizing library of original content. The series that started their exclusive catalog, when the service launched, was The Mandalorian. Set in the Star Wars universe, this show follows a lone Mandalorian on his many adventures throughout the galaxy. Along the way, he encounters a strange child that changes his life entirely. While the series is a great entry point for new franchise fans, it offers plenty of details for the Star Wars series’ longtime veterans....

The COVID-19 pandemic halted production of film, TV and even video games for a time, and now, as some parts of the world slowly begin to open back up, production is resuming. This has resulted in a lot of delays, many of which have been pushed all the way to next year. But one that thankfully won’t be affected is The Mandalorian, according to showrunner Jon Favreau. In a roundtable discussion about The Mandalorian during the online ATX-TV festival, Favreau revealed that the series had already finished filming before things had to be shut down because of coronavirus, “We were lucky enough to have finished photography before the lockdown, so thanks to how technology-forward Lucasfilm and ILM are, we’ve been able to do all the editing visual effects remotely....

As we move into September, some gamers may be reluctant to acknowledge the upcoming Holiday gaming season. Sure, the next few months may be home to multiple high-profile releases, but by December our wallets will have cried more than during a Steam Summer Sale. However, thanks to a number of delays, there’s still some breathing room during the next few weeks. One of the most notable releases this month is that of Borderlands 2, which looks to improve greatly on its predecessor, both in terms of narrative and gameplay....

The Office star Brian Baumgartner revealed that he pitched a romance between his character, Kevin Malone, and Ellie Kemper’s Erin Hannon to the writers of the NBC series. Baumgartner detailed his pitch to the writing staff during an episode of his podcast titled An Oral History of The Office. Baumgartner portrayed the bumbling accountant Kevin Mallone on NBC’s The Office until the series concluded its nine-season run in 2013. Seven years later, Baumgartner launched a 12-episode podcast that provides a comprehensive history of the series featuring notable guests such as stars Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, and creator Greg Daniels....

Fans have waited a long time for the release of STALKER 2, but it looks PS5 users might have to keep waiting. The sequel to the legendary horror FPS will be exclusive to PC and Xbox Series X. Having already been canceled and restarted, STALKER 2 has been hotly anticipated by many fans since development began in 2010. The game was officially re-announced in 2018, but it’s only recently been confirmed as exclusive to Microsoft platforms....

The Metal Gear Solid movie has yet to enter production, but that hasn’t stopped at least one prominent actor from throwing their hat into the ring for the role of Solid Snake, as Oscar Isaac has publically stated that he wants to play the famous mercenary on the big screen. The development of a Metal Gear Solid movie was first announced by Hideo Kojima at E3 2006, but production on the film has repeatedly stalled due to budgetary issues....

EA confirms Star Wars Battlefront 2 will hit stores during the 2017 holiday season as an executive promises the game will have “bigger and better worlds.” Star Wars Battlefront may have received a mixed reception from critics and gamers when it released in November 2015 but EA has made it quite clear that it is happy with the title’s sales numbers: Battlefront has shipped 14 million copies to date, well ahead of the publisher’s expectations....

Although nothing has been officially announced, it seems like a safe bet that a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is in the works. Many consider the original to be a return to the very type of Star Wars game fans have been dying for, even if it wasn’t without its flaws. Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is still likely years away though, meaning it’s likely to be a PS5 and Xbox Series X game....

Stardew Valley’s console multiplayer update is coming just after “a few fixes.” Last August, Stardew Valley finally received multiplayer for up to 4 players. Players could all pitch in to help out on the farm, or just let one person do the farming while everyone else went to go mining or fishing or to learn magic from a traveling wizard. You know, typical Stardew Valley things. That multiplayer update was just for PC players though....

There are few more iconic horror characters than Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, a series starting with Sean Cunningham’s classic 1980 slasher film. The hockey mask-wearing killer from Camp Crystal Lake has been featured in tons of films and his own asymmetrical horror game, but author Stephen King has an idea for how Jason could star in a particularly striking novel. King posted a Tweet Sunday that said the “best novel idea I never wrote” was a first-person narrative that explores the existential dread of the killer as he is repeatedly defeated and destroyed....

The release of Dungeons & Dragons 5e has helped bolster the hobby as well. D&D 5e is very user-friendly and much more inviting to new players than other games. Following a major leak that Bandai Namco intended to reveal a new Tales game, the publisher officially announced Tales of Arise at E3 2019. It promises to be the next chapter of the fan-favorite series and looks much sharper than the previous entry, Tales of Berseria. It is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and features an updated battle system that reportedly retains a classic gameplay vibe. Story-wise, Bandai Namco unveiled a small snippet detailing the overarching narrative of Tales of Arise....

Can you BELIEVE that season 3 of Ted Lasso is right around the corner? Apple TV+’s feel-good, fish-out-of-water sports comedy that inexplicably began life as a series of commercials for NBC Sports has become maybe the most beloved new show of the 2020s. Jason Sudeikis’ mustached titular character is a beaming light of optimism and a balm in increasingly depressing times. Season 2 found the overmatched football coach struggling with his mental health and unresolved trauma from his youth while the AFC Richmond squad battled to get promoted back into the Premier League....

Minecraft Dungeons is a very unique game, and there are a host of different things that the developers did that added a unique spin to the dungeon crawler genre. Mechanics such as procedural generation and the enchantment system add a fantastic amount of depth to Minecraft Dungeons and will have players coming back to play every day. However, there are also, unfortunately, some mechanics in Minecraft Dungeons that aren’t nearly as expansive as they should be, and players are left wanting more out of these Specific parts of the game....

To say that Bethesda has merely fallen from grace in recent years is to downplay not only the never-ending catastrophe that is Fallout 76, but also the triumphant heights they had previously reached during the seventh console generation.
