Count the DCEU out at your own risk. After eight years of doomsaying by critics (and some fans), hawk-ish box office watching, and yes, the occasional creative stumble, Warner Bros. shared universe of DC superhero movies is still thriving. And despite its commitment to only maintaining the loosest of continuity connections between its films, they aren’t blowing the DCEU up any time soon. Warner Bros. has announced this year’s installment of DC FanDome, it’s massive virtual event where they lay out everything the DC Universe has planned, from comics to video games to TV to movies....

One incredibly devoted fan of Ubisoft’s forthcoming military shooter, The Division, creates a Skill Calculator that helps players plan in-game strategies. Thanks to a fan of The Division going by the name Miodec, other players will now be able to plot out strategic ploys using the game’s available abilities to put together a cohesive plan of action with a tool called The Division Skill Calculator. Should potential players of the Massive Entertainment-developed game want to get a head start on dominating firefights, Miodec’s creation will definitely give them the edge to get ahead....

During its E3 2017 press conference, Bethesda offered several The Elder Scrolls-related announcements, including the confirmation that Skyrim VR is coming to PlayStation VR. But these announcements did not include an official reveal of The Elder Scrolls 6. On social media, many fans took the company to task and asked why the Skyrim follow-up was a no-show during its presser. In a YouTube Live interview Geoff Keighley, Bethesda’s vice president of marketing Pete Hines explained that the simple reason for that is because The Elder Scrolls 6 development hasn’t even started yet....

The Elder Scrolls 6 is Bethesda’s chance to surpass Skyrim’s legacy and help bring about a new generation of next-gen open-world RPGs. Unsurprisingly, this will be no small task, and to pull it off the studio will need to find ways to improve upon some of its fantasy franchise’s most famous features. The Elder Scrolls 6 will need to spice up its prison and guard systems, increasing the roleplaying opportunities the system presents without stepping on the trademark freedom that the franchise allows its players....

There is no BlizzCon for 2020. That announcement was made earlier this year when Blizzard said they’d move the annual event online to avoid an enormous COVID-19 outbreak (and to comply with local health authorities and government bans on large gatherings). We weren’t told exactly when in 2021 this virtual event will take place, but we knew it’d be early next year. Well, now we know precisely when. Geoff Keighley’s major event managed to receive more than 83 million live streams marking an 84% increase from last year’s 45.2 million. The CG-animated Trek series will be called Star Trek: Prodigy and, according to the official press release it “follows a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation.” Um, this sounds great! Definitely a different direction from the more adult-geared animated Trek series Lower Decks, which will be premiering on August 6th and has a much lighter, more comedic tone....

When it comes to showing one’s fandom for a particular franchise, there’s no better way than to pick up a Collector’s Edition. Sometimes the contents of the CE’s are ridiculous and over-the-top, other times they are practical and neat like the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition, but regardless of their contents, they all tend to sell out rather quickly.
