Justice League Dark, DC Comics’ coterie of macabre heroes, has long been on the DC Extended Universe docket in multiple forms, having spent years as a movie project before being put into development this past April as a television series for HBO Max. In an early episode of Ted Lasso, the new Apple TV+ comedy about a fictional Division II college football coach from Kansas (Jason Sudeikis) hired to lead a struggling English Premier League Team, an uptight journalist details Ted’s many flaws, but determines that he “can’t help but root for him.” It’s the perfect way to describe the new series developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence (Scrubs), Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt (who co-stars as Lasso’s strong, silent assistant Coach Beard); Ted Lasso may not be the comedy that will make Apple TV+ a must-have, but it’s a charming, easy watch that you’ll want to cheer for whether you’re a sports fan or not....

Last year, it was revealed that Negan from The Walking Dead would be making his way to the Tekken 7 roster as yet another guest fighter for the game. It’s fair to say that Telltale’s reputation as one of the premier storytelling studios has been built on the success of The Walking Dead. The developer found a powerful voice with its five-part series, gaining a huge amount of success both critically and commercially. The title’s tough moral choices and deep, interesting characters created one of the most immersive video games in years. Although the second season of The Walking Dead did not garner quite as much acclaim as the original, it is still seen by many as a standout example of video game storytelling....

Telltale Games, known for its narrative-driven titles including The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and Game of Thrones, could be in some serious trouble. According to a report by The Verge, the studio is undergoing another big round of layoffs, with some reports suggesting the end could be near for Telltale Games. This isn’t the first time Telltale Games has been forced to reduce its numbers. Last November, the studio let go roughly 25% of its staff, resulting in a total of 90 lost jobs....

Just over two weeks ago, Terraria developer Andrew Spinks canceled plans to bring the game to Google’s Stadia cloud platform. Spinks had been locked out of his Google accounts with seemingly no notification and was angry at the company as a result. It now seems that those plans are being reverted. Terraria’s developers announced today in a State of the Game update that Terraria’s Stadia launch remains on-track and moving forward....

The success of the widely acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2 is owed to its dynamic characters who draw emotion so intense that it can seem palpable. It’s been almost a year since its release, but the hype for the game remains strong. A character such as Dutch van der Linde who dresses in a rugged, gaudy fashion is so corrupt that members of his outlaw gang defy his leadership. A protagonist like Arthur Morgan has the opposite effect, bringing reassurance and tranquility....

Brand new images of conceptual pieces for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End show up online, revealing pictures from the action-adventure game’s forthcoming art book. As many fans of Nathan Drake and his escapades would argue, Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series is rife with some of the best and most beautifully designed landscapes and environments in gaming, and that the settings generate a grandiose tone for the titles’ globetrotting adventures. So, of course, it only made sense for the studio to team up with Dark Horse Comics and announce a companion book of concept art to be released in tandem with its forthcoming title Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, of which gamers can now get a better look with new images from the compendium having been recently released on the Web....

Dataminer discovers potential new additions coming to The Division, including an expansion on the Dark Zone, new PvP activities, and vanity items for players. Over the summer, Tom Clancy’s The Division experienced numerous challenges that led to much of the player base deserting the cover-based shooter. Fortunately, developer Massive instituted numerous fixes and added new features and expansions that helped breathe new life into the game. With The Division in a much better place, and many players back protecting the post-apocalyptic streets of New York City, gamers are anxiously looking forward to what’s next with the game....

During Bethesda’s E3 2017 Showcase a new expansion for the collectible card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends was announced. Introducing Heroes of Skyrim, the first expansion for Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls-themed game. Heroes of Skyrim will be adding over 150 new cards when it launches on June 29 and will focus on mechanics familiar to players of the latest major Elder Scrolls titles. That includes shouts, dragons, and companions whose names should be etched in memory....

Now that Bethesda has finally confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is in development, fans have been quick to speculate where the next game in the series will take place. Considering that every release in the Elder Scrolls series are centered around their settings, including many of the Elder Scrolls Online expansions, exactly where the next title takes place will set the pace for the game. Looking back at some of the settings that previous The Elder Scrolls titles have already visited in the past, such as Skyrim and Morrowind, there is still plenty of room in the larger world of Tamriel....

The gaming industry often follows trends, with specific genres sometimes oversaturating the market and leaving other areas of interest unexplored as the fad continues. However, it looks like one of these trends might be getting a return, with the fantasy genre seeing a new renaissance in 2021 with the expectations of upcoming releases like Elder Scrolls 6 and Final Fantasy 16. This may be the start of a shift from heavily sci-fi oriented titles that continue to flood the market, especially considering that developers that accel in the flashy, tech-based genre like Square Enix are returning to fantasy with Final Fantasy 16....

As one era begins, another must end. With Star Wars: The Old Republic gradually releasing this week, we say goodbye to Star Wars Galaxies, the first MMO based on George Lucas’ worldwide sci-fi phenomenon that began development all the way back in 2000. We found out this summer that SWG was coming to an end on December 15th to make room for SWTOR and now that day has passed. While the Star Wars Galaxies license would have expired anyway in 2012, the game’s activity had dimished to such a low point where it wouldn’t make sense for Sony Online Entertainment to keep it running, especially against EA and BioWare’s high profile Star Wars MMO....

The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order reveal trailer is, at the moment, one of the most significant points of discussion in the gaming industry. People have been picking apart many aspects of the trailer, including that of its story, characters, and settings, but one of the most contentious topics at the moment is the original owner of the protagonist’s damaged lightsaber, which is said to be “iconic.” Along with a teaser image displaying the lightsaber from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, multiple parts of the trailer also show the protagonist, Cal, wielding the lightsaber, with one one specific moment putting full emphasis on it by showing Cal study the lightsaber....
