Although E3 2019 doesn’t officially start for another day, or so, the festivities once again kick off with an early EA Play event. As expected, attendees got a first closeup look at Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and how the gameplay is actually going to work in the upcoming action game from Respawn thanks to 15 minutes of brand new footage. It’s been a rocky couple of years in the world of video games for Star Wars fans with the cancellation of the open-world Star Wars game and the drama surrounding Battlefront 2, but hopefully Jedi Fallen Order will finally deliver the exciting single player, story-driven campaign that fans of the franchise have been begging for....

The Star Wars movies are known for following the “hero’s journey” template for storytelling, wherein the titular hero goes on an adventure or quest, wins whatever fight or conflict they are up against, and returns home changed or transformed in some way. It’s an effective method for telling a coherent story, but it can feel a bit repetitive and bland if it’s overdone. Even with the framework aside, a story or franchise can start to feel repetitive when the same character archetypes are used over and over again....

March is a special month for fans of farming simulator games, given that this month will see the release of two of the genre’s biggest franchises. The video game developer Capcom reveals its decision to potentially extend post-launch support for its fighting game Street Fighter 5 well into the year 2020. Now that Street Fighter 5’s first season of DLC releases has concluded, fans of the official fifth installment in the long-running fighting game franchise have been wondering what the future holds for the title. Obviously, support for the release is slated to continue for the duration of 2017 as Capcom prepares to launch the second season, but it seems as if the developer is committed to keeping Street Fighter 5 flush with content for a much longer time than that, as the fighting game could continue to get DLC for the next four years....

If you’ve been playing Super Mario 3D All-Stars, you may have noticed something strange in Super Mario Sunshine. The collection of Mario games is delighting players with heavy doses of nostalgia, but it’s also raised some questions. First, Nintendo announced that the game would only be available until March for reasons unknown. The Elder Scrolls looked a lot different during its first foray into the world of gaming with its first two titles, Arena and Daggerfall. While still first-person adventures with a sprawling, open-world background and lands of fantasy to explore, the games are low resolution and feature a bunch of oddities. Some of these are more noticeable than others, for example, Orcs being unplayable and the complete lack of Imperials. While Arena simply set the stage and Daggerfall built up much of the lore we know and love today, there’s still a lot of information that players will miss by not playing these iconic games....

The Maormer, also known as the Sea Elves, of Pyandonea are a mysterious race in the world of The Elder Scrolls. Many hardcore fans have known about their existence, but know little about them. When encountered in The Elder Scrolls Online, most of the Maormer come off as very rude and defensive. The other races of Tamriel prefer not to deal with them if possible. They haven’t appeared much in The Elder Scrolls series, but their appearance in The Elder Scrolls Online has made them memorable....

As a franchise, Star Wars is known for being interconnected. There are five core skills in Stardew Valley — Farming, Fishing, Foraging, Mining, and Combat.
