Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai recently published another column on the Japanese magazine Famitsu. This time he discusses the game that has broken records as one of the most popular games of all time, Among Us. Sakurai has a lot to say about the 2018 title that blew up in 2020, but chief among them is the idea that he is not quite sure if the game will remain popular for the long haul....

One of the biggest surprises of 2020 has been the success of the roguelike action game Hades. Hades has been available in Early Access for almost two years, but its final release came in September. To say its reception has been positive would be an understatement, as Hades has already received multiple nominations from The Game Awards 2020. It seems like Fran has decided to take single-handedly revive the tier two competitive Overwatch scene herself. Fran’s Overwatch Community Cup - an online tournament with over $6,000 in prize money, well-liked hero bans and a slew of strong Overwatch Contenders and Open Division teams ready to take center-stage on May 4th. Fran announced recently the 16 teams set to compete in the tournament. Everyone knows that Christopher Nolan is obsessed with time and his upcoming feature, Tenet, seems to be no different. In a timeline without COVID-19, Tenet would have already released but since theaters across Northern America are still either shut down or working at limited capacity, Tenet has been indefinitely delayed. Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. has removed Nolan’s newest sci-fi thriller from its release calendar making this Tenet’s third delay....

The next Maximus Cup event in Tetris 99 has been announced, and it will add a theme based on Kirby Fighters 2. Kirby Fighters 2 is a fighting game starring characters from the Kirby franchise (in case the name didn’t give it away). The bulk of the characters in Kirby Fighters 2 are different iterations of Kirby’s copy ability, along with King Dedede and Meta Knight. It’s no Street Fighter 2 or Super Smash Bros....

Hammers in Monster Hunter: World are a unique choice of weapon. Essentially, these weapons are blunt forces of nature that operate like Hulk from Avengers: they smash with powerful attacks. Spider-Man: Miles Morales is one of the next-generation tiles you can already play right now on your newly-acquired PlayStation 5. If not, the game is accessible on the PlayStation 4 as well. This release was met with generally favorable reviews for its incredible gameplay, well-crafted story, and of course, the introduction of Miles Morales’ version of Spider-Man.
