The odd thing about The Fabelmans, Steven Spielberg’s thinly fictionalized account of his childhood, adolescence, and family upbringing—the factors that ultimately shaped him into one of our greatest directors—is that it’s not really about Spielberg’s screen avatar, young Sammy Fabelman (played by Mateo Zoryon Francis-DeFord as a little boy and uncanny Spielberg lookalike Gabriel LaBelle as a teenager). For most of its 150-minute running time, the central character is Mitzi, Sammy’s mother, played as a force of nature by Michelle Williams in a towering tour de force performance....
The Flash movie panel at DC FanDome may not have been as full of multiverse shattering revelations as we thought it might be. Despite having the presence of star Ezra Miller, director Andy Muschietti, and producer Barbara Muschietti, it was more a quick tour of what makes the character cool, as well as how it will help cement the concept of DC’s multimedia multiverse. But they still dropped a big reveal on fans, with word that Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen will be trading in his weird, unwieldy armor costume that he wore in Justice League for something a little more fitting for a character whose entire deal is that he moves at super speed....

In Antoine Fuqua’s new Netflix film, The Guilty, Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Joe Baylor, a police officer forced to work in a Los Angeles Emergency Call Center due to an ongoing investigation into misconduct that occurred while Baylor was on the job. The film gives us scarce details about what went down, with Joe’s ex-partner Rick and his former sergeant alluding to a court date, as well as a reporter from the Los Angeles Times repeatedly calling Joe for comment, but no one spells out exactly what Joe did to get the punishment of working the phones....

While the second game in the series basically forces the player to get acquainted with Abby as a new protagonist and spend time with a character they probably hate immediately, there are many more similarities between the two characters than meets the eye....
In The Last of Us 2, the player journeys through the post-apocalyptic world and have to survive against the enemies the game puts them up against. One of the ways that players can combat what their environment throws at them is through upgrading weapons, which can only be done at workbenches. Throughout The Last of Us 2, there are 25 workbenches that players can find. Since there is a limited number of them, it’s important that players know where to find them as they progress through their adventure....

Joel plays guitar to bond with Ellie, Ellie plays guitar to court her girlfriend, and there are just guitars in seemingly every landscape of this game. While we eagerly await the return of The Mandalorian, the season 3 trailer that debuted at D23 this weekend is full of easter eggs and hints as to where this season will take our favorite father and son duo Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu. One of the more unexpected and intriguing of these easter eggs is the return of the astromech droid R5-D4. We’ve seen R5 in The Mandalorian before as one of Peli Motto’s (Amy Sedaris) many droid companions, but the trailer hints at a bigger adventure in this droid’s future as he joins Din and Grogu in the N-1....

As one of the more anticipated games coming this year, Star Wars Battlefront has managed to keep players content with its open beta and anticipating the final release. While some have critiqued the brief sample for lacking in some aspects, it turns out that the final product will be lacking in one major way in particular – in-game voice chat. Understandably, many aren’t too happy with this revelation. Electronic Arts confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront will not support in-game voice chat in a Twitter reply to a pair of gamers that were asking about the feature....
Even after Disney declared a lot of Star Wars expanded universe content non-canon “Legends,” there is still plenty of material to dig through in the Star Wars universe. In preparing for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, writer Chris Avellone reveals that he re-watched the original trilogy and watched the new trilogy, Rogue One, Solo, and the entirety of the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. Avellone has previously made it clear that he’s not the biggest fan of Star Wars, but it does seem that this research paid off, particularly when it comes to Clone Wars and Rebels....
Elon Musk’s SpaceX satellite internet provider, Starlink, will increase the service’s speed later this year. The world’s richest man tweeted that the goal is to have Starlink double the speed it currently offers which goes from 50 to 150 Mbps at the moment. Musk announced this in a reply to another tweet in which a user claimed to have received Starlink’s beta kit. Last October, Elon Musk started offering the beta version of Starlink to customers....
Persona 5 Strikers is the spin-off/sequel that nobody expected but plenty of people appreciate. It may also be a bit confusing due to the release of Persona 5 Royal. Strikers is a direct sequel set a few months after the original game wrapped up. Strikers doesn’t mention anything that happened in Persona 5 Royal, and yet it is still canon. The timeline is a bit confusing when considering both of these games, but it’s good to know when starting....
