Final Fantasy is a long-running franchise with a long-running tradition of making gratuitous references to Star Wars. Sometimes these are very in-your-face references that might make players groan, sometimes they are so subtle that only the most die-hard Jedi will notice them. With both franchises being such significant parts of the geeky canon, it is no surprise that there should be some crossover. With Star Wars coming first, there were plenty of opportunities for the fans within Squaresoft’s dev teams to slip jokes in here and there....

Stardew Valley has gone through many updates over the years in order to keep things fresh for veteran players. Recently version 1.5 brought a huge amount of new content for the game, including a new area and a beach farm to start out on. Of course, a new update wouldn’t be complete without adding in new crops and trees for the player to grow on their farm. There are eight new types of crops and trees that can be found in the game....

Steam has permanently banned Super Seducer 3: The Final Seduction from releasing on its platform. That comes from game producer and star Richard La Ruina, who posted his exchange with Steam support on Twitter last Saturday. According to the post, La Ruina had been in frequent contact with Steam support for the past several weeks trying to get his game released on the platform. Originally scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day, Steam apparently objected to the game’s content, specifically mentioning that they do not ship games containing “sexually explicit images of real people....

The newest Essential Facts About the Computer and Video Game Industry Report is out, and its findings have suggested that gamers are still influenced by a video game’s aesthetics more than anything else. There are so many ways to evolve Pokémon these days that it can be hard to keep track. Though the term gameplay trailer doesn’t exactly have a set-in-stone definition, it’s best to imagine them as closer looks at a particular title in action. Sometimes it’s a story trailer composed entirely of in-game footage, while mostly it’s a long-form demo with pre-determined points of interest. As far as high-octane trailers go, Ubisoft’s brand new cinematic trailer for The Crew 2 certainly stands up to the competition. During today’s Ubisoft Press Conference for E3 2017, Ubisoft brought forth a wild and fast-paced trailer showing an increased array motorsport options for The Crew 2, and scenes with fleets of racers whipping by local wildlife, turning through city streets, and ripping through some dessert scenery. In short, The Crew 2 certainly looks good - but it will have to do more than that to stand up to stiff competition like Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo....

Anyone who has been thinking about jumping into The Division 2 can now do it for free. Ubisoft has stated that, as of today, players can dive in for a total of eight hours of playtime, giving everyone a lengthy trial to see if the game suits their playstyle. The free trial comes on the same day as patch 1.22, which features new additions to the game’s loot and some major balance changes....

During The Game Awards 2020 tonight, it was revealed that the upcoming expansion for the popular Elder Scrolls Online will be taking players to “The Gates of Oblivion” next year. Bringing three different generations of Elder Scrolls games under one hood, Online has really become something of a “Smash Bros. Ultimate” for Bethesda’s ridiculously popular series. While we only have a teaser, for now, Bethesda will be holding an official unveiling on January 21, 2021, over on its Twitch channel....
