The second generation of Pokemon built upon the successes of the first generation. Instead of merely creating one new region, Pokemon’s creators combined Johto and Kanto into one comprehensive game. This could definitely turn out to be the best year yet for fans of the Star Wars franchise. For instance, gamers recently got their fill from a slew of Star Wars titles in a Humble Bundle package a few months back, Electronic Arts’ and DICE’s reboot of Star Wars Battlefront comes out this November, and of course, J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is slated to release in theaters on December 18....

Lucasfilm and Disney have announced that the Clone Wars spin-off series Star Wars: The Bad Batch will premiere on Disney Plus on May 4th, 2021. The second episode will then premiere on May 7, with subsequent episodes available on Fridays on a weekly basis. The series will follow the exploits of Clone Force 99, an elite squad of Republic commandos better known as The Bad Batch, as they make their way through the rapidly changing galaxy during the fall of the Galactic Republic and the rise of the Empire....

More often than naught, big budget Star Wars games under EA have had rocky launches, highlighted by the controversy that spawned alongside Star Wars: Battlefront 2. However, it seems that Motive Studios was able to buck that trend with Star Wars Squadrons, a consumer friendly priced game that puts players in the shoes of ace pilots. The game is largely viewed as a big success for the studio, which has since moved on to other projects....

While Thursday’s Xbox Games Showcase for the Xbox Series X started with the reveal of Halo Infinite gameplay, the first game announcement of the show was State of Decay 3. Undead Labs is now confirmed to be working on another sequel in its popular open-world zombie survival game franchise. State of Decay 3 was announced with a short cinematic trailer. No gameplay was shown, unfortunately. The cinematic focused a single character who seemed lost, or perhaps just surviving, in the midst of the snowy wilderness....

Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, game demos have grown in importance. Demos allow game players to save money while still getting to try a lot of great games. That’s why the Steam Game Festival was such an important part of 2020. Dozens of game demos were made available for the duration of each Steam Game Festival, helping drive up interest in some great 2020 and upcoming indie games. Now the Steam Game Festival is coming back to help kick off 2021 in PC gaming....

Following years of speculation, Rocksteady finally announced Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League at DC FanDome. The highly-anticipated game features an impressive cast of playable characters, including Suicide Squad mainstay Harley Quinn. And now it’s been confirmed exactly who is providing the voice work for Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League when the game launches for PC and next-generation consoles in 2022. As confirmed by Tara Strong on Twitter, the prolific voice actress is indeed the voice of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League....

A unique shopping bag featuring images promoting the still-unopened Super Nintendo World themed area has been recently spotted at the Universal Studios Japan theme park. On July 13, Twitter user GoRiRiN (@GR_U_D) posted a photo of a Universal Studios Japan executive carrying a red and white bag prominently displaying the Super Nintendo World logo on the side. The front of the bag features a design showcasing the green warp pipe from the Mario franchise, with Mario’s white-gloved hand holding up a signature red cap, complete with an “M” on the front....

In order to comply with the current stay at home order, television shows have had to get creative in devising methods to reach viewers. While the quarantine has caused many programs to halt production, Apple TV+ comedy series Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, is boldly putting forth its own solution. The show’s newest episode, the remotely produced Mythic Quest: Quarantine, is set to air next week. While the series is currently on hold, like much of Hollywood, co-creator and star Rob McElhenney decided to take advantage of the current situation to present a unique episode that could encapsulate the new reality of virtual work....

Online accessory store HonSon may have just inadvertently confirmed that the arrival of a Nintendo Switch Mini is imminent. The Nintendo Switch has proved itself to be an incredibly popular console. So much so, that it has already surpassed some of Nintendo’s other iconic consoles in terms of lifetime sales. It is currently on the cusp of selling more units than the Gamecube and Wii U combined. Plus, perhaps even more impressive is its recent overtaking of the Nintendo 64’s lifetime sales....

Telltale’s upcoming Game of Thrones title has been kept behind closed doors aside of some exceptionally small teasers, leaving plenty of fans wondering if the game was still on-track for the original 2014 release date deadline. Responding to a fan’s question on Twitter, Telltale’s own PR Specialist Laura Perusco confirmed that Game of Thrones was indeed still coming in 2014, immediately setting up plenty of original jokesters with a plethora of ‘Winter is Coming’ jokes....

Tetris 99 is receiving a physical edition that will come bundled with a twelve-month subscription to the Nintendo Switch Online service. The physical version of Tetris 99 will also include the Big Block DLC, which adds several modes that don’t require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play. Tetris 99 is a game that is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch and is considered to be one of the best reasons to purchase a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, which is required to play the online mode of the game....

In hindsight, Netflix’s (formerly YouTube’s) Cobra Kai was too great an idea to not happen. Taking a beloved ‘80s movie property, The Karate Kid, and reimagining for a new generation focused on the villainous Cobra Kai dojo from the film series? That’s gold! Or at least, we know that’s gold now, having been able to see it through four, soon-to-be-five, wonderful seasons of karate action. Prior to Cobra Kai premiering in 2018, however, very few people had the vision that Karate Kid’s ostensible villain Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) would make for a compelling antihero more than 30 years later....

This The 100 review contains spoilers. The 100 Season 4 Episode 1 The 100 season 4 premiere has a lot of ground to cover, picking up immediately after the end of last season. We manage to see the power struggle for and selection of new leadership for the grounders, set off our season-long conflicts, and get a hint of the global destruction that is to come. We don’t have much action, world-building, or sweeping vistas in this episode, and so in that regard it feels much less expansive than other season openers....

The Batman has also arguably delivered the definitive version of Detective Jim Gordon, who is played brilliantly by Jeffrey Wright....

If you’ve seen The Batman by now, it’s plain to see that director/co-writer Matt Reeves’ vision for the Dark Knight is perhaps the darkest we’ve seen onscreen to date, drenched in the brooding atmosphere and morally ambiguous tones of noir while constructed on the spine of a classic detective story. There’s virtually none of the fantastical carnival aspects of the Burton/Schumacher films and far less of the propulsive action pyrotechnics of the Christopher Nolan-directed Dark Knight trilogy....
