Digital Extremes is ending 2020 with a change of the financial guard. Hong Kong-based Leyou Technologies has been successfully sold to Tencent, the giant Chinese media conglomerate that also owns Riot Games, Funcom, Sharkmob, controlling interests in Grinding Gear Games and Supercell, and has minority stakes in Epic, Activision Blizzard, Paradox Interactive, Ubisoft, and so many more. It’s a not-so-dramatic end to an odyssey that started earlier this year when it seemed that Sony might be the ones to acquire Leyou....

The Capcom collectible card game Teppen has been making some waves in the mobile gaming space. The game encourages players to experiment with different deck combinations to try to get an advantage over their opponents, and Reddit user bibachah has put one together that may arguably be the best deck discovered in the game so far. Bibachah’s Teppen deck uses Albert Wesker as the “hero.” However, the only character players have unlocked at the start of Teppen is Ryu from Street Fighter, so they will have to put in some legwork before they can add Wesker to their roster....

When The Beatles first appeared on American television, Ed Sullivan thanked them for “being four of the nicest youngsters” he had ever met. He called them talented, professional, and very polite. Peter Jackson had to get special dispensation from the Mouse to let the band loosen their tongues for The Beatles: Get Back. “We’ve had to have a discussion with Disney about the swearing,” Jackson told Radio Times. The six-hour documentary follows the band writing and rehearsing 14 new songs on a tight deadline....

Boba Fett’s return last season on The Mandalorian finally confirmed an idea that was long-reflected across decades of Star Wars comics and novels, that being his escape from an alleged millennium of digestion within the belly of the dreaded Sarlacc. While clues were visible on Boba’s face, a full explanation about how he eluded that Return of the Jedi-dealt fate was not provided. Fortunately, it appears that imminent spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett is bringing the answers....

One common complaint about the first Division was the lack of anything compelling to do in the endgame. Massive Entertainment has gone out of its way to make sure the same isn’t true for The Division 2, giving players plenty to do once they wrap up the main story, including raids, side quests, live activities, and more. The endgame content also includes unlocking and upgrading three Specializations that come with their own special, especially powerful weaponry for players to have at their disposal....

The Division series director Julian Gerighty has fans speculating after asking them for their thoughts on a single-player game in the series. One idea for a single-player Division game was described as a mix of The Division lore with the atmosphere and narrative style of The Last of Us, the hugely popular PlayStation exclusive game from Naughty Dog. On Twitter, Tim Spencer, level director at LEGO Star Wars developer TT Games, said that he would “love” to see a “single-player narrative-driven spin-off” of The Division....

After nearly countless years of anticipation, Final Fantasy VII Remake has finally been released to the public. The original game came out in 1997, making it older than a significant portion of the audience playing the new take on the series’ first 3D entry. Because of this, some details may fly over their heads. To the game’s credit, it is still wholly enjoyable without any knowledge of the source material. There will be some spoilers going forward, however, for both this remake and the first game....

It makes perfect sense that Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi would get together to promote their upcoming movie Free Guy, but no one was expecting the pair to show up as Deadpool and Korg in a brand new YouTube trailer reaction video. This marks the first time that Deadpool has officially appeared in an MCU character crossover and signals that plans to include him in the Marvel blockbuster juggernaut are still very much afoot after some time passing with no update on Deadpool 3’s MCU status....

I’d like to think that it’s widely accepted that 1990s animation was very good to comic book superheroes. We had a genre-changing Batman: The Animated Series, the deep and socially relevant X-Men: The Animated Series, and two expanded cartoon universes that came out of each one. But there was one superhero cartoon, neither DC or Marvel, that sticks out to me for being a bit underused and well before its time....
