Although The Expanse rearranged the order of some character introductions over the years, each season for the most part followed the conflict of each successive book in the James S. A. Corey series. Season one followed Leviathan Wakes, season two followed Caliban’s War, and so on. But with the ninth and final novel recently released, how can the show possibly wrap up the story in a way that will satisfy fans and resolve the issues brought about by the introduction of alien technology into the solar system?...

“They’re toxic, so they deserve a toxic game.” This is what a friend jokingly told me the other day in reference to the general Pokémon fanbase, in reference to the reveal of Pokémon Unite. Pokémon Unite is the franchise’s just-announced step into the world of MOBA, or multiplayer online battle arena. Fans were furious when this game “took the place” of an announcement for Diamond & Pearl remakes or a Johto version of a Let’s Go title....

Given a mostly silent reveal during today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase, Forever Entertainment (which recently remade Sega’s Panzer Dragoon) has announced that its House of the Dead remake is 100% real and will be coming to the Nintendo Switch soon. Announced roughly two years ago as being in development, we now finally have an idea of what this remake will look and sound like. Titled simply “The House of the Dead: Remake,” the overhaul pretty much follows the same style that Forever Entertainment used with Panzer Dragoon....

The latest patch for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has fixed one of the most frustrating aspects of the game, as players can now choose any music track when fighting on some of the most popular stages used in tournaments. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate might have the best soundtrack in video game history, by virtue of the fact that it contains a mixture of the best songs from other titles. Every company except for Square Enix opened the floodgates and allowed Nintendo to put tons of songs from series like Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, and Street Fighter into Ultimate, to say nothing of the abundance of homegrown first-party Nintendo tracks....

The Magicians Season 3 Episode 7 While it’s not always possible to interweave the stories together in The Magicians, it’s magnificent when the characters and their conflicts relate with one another as they did in “Poached Eggs.” Allowing several characters to reflect on the journey so far in heartfelt conversations was a great writing decision especially here at the halfway point of the season. If the fairy takeover, which has recently been the weakest storyline, is truly at a turning point, we could potentially be reaching a pinnacle of greatness for many of the beleaguered magicians and the series as a whole....

The Magicians Season 4 Episode 1 The Magicians was already remarkable for having improved on its storytelling from its uneven first season to its stellar sophomore outing to its top-notch quest for the seven keys in season three, but if “A Flock of Lost Birds” is any indication of what’s to come, season 4 will outdo them all. This amazing premiere was by no means a sure thing given the shocking but somewhat worryingly disruptive finale last year, but somehow this fresh take on the characters we love with their new identities is like re-discovering The Magicians all over again....

A new Star Trek television series was announced Friday, with plans to broadcast the show via the CBS All Access streaming service. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will be a spin-off of the previous CBS All Access show Star Trek: Discovery. It will focus on Star Trek: Discovery’s Captain Pike, Number One, and Spock characters, all introduced in Discovery’s second season. Like Discovery, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will serve as a prequel to the original 1965 Star Trek series....

Although The Next Generation isn’t overtly referenced in the sixth episode of Strange New Worlds, the feeling of TNG is keenly felt in this outing for Pike and the crew. If you rewatch the episode, you’ll realize the writing is on the wall pretty early on, we’re just too charmed by Alora and the First Servant to see it at first....

Disney comes up with a creative way to enforce social distancing rules at its Disney Springs retail and entertainment complex. The company officially reopened Disney Springs two weeks ago, but fans will have to wait until July to go on Disney World rides again. A new video posted to the Attractions Magazine YouTube channel has shown park actors dressed as Stormtroopers from Star Wars helping to make sure that visitors stay a suitable distance apart....

The Protoss are the cool futuristic faction in Starcraft. They have cool alien buildings that they just need to warp in and not even build and they use tons of crystals for some reason, they have fully sentient AI and they have cool voices. Having relied on The Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises for years, Starfield is the first new IP being tackled by Bethesda Game Studios in over two decades. Not much is known about the upcoming title other than that it will be an RPG set in space and that it is currently set to be Bethesda’s next big release, hitting the shelves before The Elder Scrolls 6. Starfield opens up a galaxy of possibilities for Bethesda, and could be an opportunity for the studio to turn its relatively fixed RPG formula on its head....
