Video game publisher and developer Electronic Arts teases its intentions to make the forthcoming sequel for Star Wars Battlefront “much bigger” than before. It’s no secret that Star Wars Battlefront fans are anxiously awaiting next week’s release of the science fiction first-person shooter’s Rogue One DLC, but to an even greater extent the title’s player base is looking forward to the next proper entry in the series. Speaking of which, during an investor briefing in Europe today, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen described the forthcoming followup to Star Wars Battlefront as being a “much bigger, much more exciting” game than the 2015 release....

Steam is a massive video game digital distribution service ran by Valve, and it keeps getting bigger. Just recently Steam broke its concurrent user record for the third month in a row, as millions use the platform to play video games. After far too long a wait, players can now snag Sub-Zero’s maskless variant cosmetic in Mortal Kombat 11. Since the game released, players have been asking on forums how to unlock the new look, as it and numerous other cosmetics did not appear readily available. Players will need to unlock the reward by completing the “Eternal Family Bonds” in the Towers of Time. The final stage “Brotherly Bonds” will reward the cosmetic, titled “Vrbada’s Vapors," along with “Demonicus Reptilicus” for Noob Saibot, and 18,750 Koins....

The 2018 release of Subnautica catapulted Unknown Worlds Entertainment from relative obscurity to international recognition almost overnight. As development wraps up on Subnautica: Below Zero, Unknown Worlds may be setting its sights on another sequel. In an interview with PCGamesN, Art Director Cory Strader dropped hints about the studio’s plans. Among them is the possibility of a third Subnautica, this time with multiplayer. As Strader explains, Unknown Worlds initially planned for Below Zero to be a DLC for Subnautica rather than a standalone game....

One of the background artists behind hit games such as Breath of the Wild and Final Fantasy 14 is releasing a new game, Tasomachi: Behind The Twilight. The 3D platformer will make its debut later this year on PC via Steam. In Tasomachi: Behind The Twilight, players will dive deep into a world that takes inspiration from Asia’s Far-East region. The game follows Yukumo, an explorer whose airship crashes into a mysterious town filled with cats that are part of the Nezu Tribe....

In a recent interview with Alan Lopez at Nintendo Life, the creator of Tetris Alexey Pajitnov described playing the new Tetris 99, though he never wins. As this year marks the 35th anniversary of Tetris, Pajitnov has been discussing the legacy and importance of many of the multiple hit releases of the game, including Puyo Puyo Tetris, Tetris Effect, and Tetris 99. The Asari have a rich history that’s fascinating to learn about, but the biotic abilities they bring to in-game combat are also worth mentioning. Thessia was the native, original home to the Asari race. The planet also contained a lot of element zero, which led to most Asari developing biotic abilities....

The last North American release Nintendo supported on the SNES was a port of Frogger in 1998. This was also the year that the last game in Europe launched for the system: Timon & Pumbaa’s Jungle Games. That is funny considering the last European NES game was The Lion King. Anyway, 1998 was two years after the N64 launched so support wasn’t as widespread as much as for the NES. That is to say, a lot more games came out on that system after the SNES took over....
