In a move that’s long overdue, Telltale Games is going to be moving to a new game engine. The Telltale Tool that’s been in use for years is going to be replaced by Unity, an engine used in many of today’s games. The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be the final lap for Telltale Tool. The Telltale Tool has been the foundation of Telltale’s games long before the Walking Dead came along....

Releasing on the PlayStation 1 back in 1998, Acquire’s Tenchu: Stealth Assassins has become something of a classic in the years since its release, with the brutally challenging stealth ninja game going on to spawn a long-running series of titles. Its final entry dropped in 2008, with the Ubisoft-published Tenchu: Shadow Assassins hitting Wii and PSP to middling reviews. However, it seems the creator of the series, Takuma Endo, still thinks Tenchu has a lot of potential if it were to return in the near future....

During the Nacon Connect stream today, WRC developer KT Racing announced that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will be the newest entry in the previously popular series. The first installment since 2012’s Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends, this latest game will be hearkening back to the open-world style that made the next-gen sequels so appealing. It’s doing one even better by creating a 1:1 scale map for players to race around....

Nowadays, turn-based battles have grown somewhat out of fashion, but for a long time, this mechanic was the definitive gameplay style for JRPGs. Turn-based combat is so synonymous with the genre, it tends to simply be referred to as “traditional” gameplay. Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy popularized turn-based combat, while the likes of Persona 5 and Trails of Cold Steel proved it can be modernized successfully. Naturally, not all JRPGs are worth playing....

From the moment you spawn in as a new character in a Rust server, you have a target on your back. Whether it be another player, a wild creature, or even hunger or exposure, death is creeping up on you right from the start, and will catch you sooner than later if you don’t know what items to get straight away. As a survival crafting game, there are way more things you can craft than you need to in the early hours, but the game isn’t going to make that perfectly clear....

Thankfully, video games have provided gamers with an avenue to let out all of their little aggressions throughout the day, by evolving past the days of “play as the hero as you attempt to defeat evil and save the day” and letting you live out the other side. Announced today, developer TML Studios and Aerosoft - a leading publisher of deep simulation games - has announced that it will be releasing its newest game, The Bus, on PC via Steam Early Access on March 25, 2021. The Bus is a bus driving simulator that will attempt to take the city bus-driving simulation genre to the next level, seeing players driving the streets of a realistic 1:1 scale of Berlin, Germany....

Marvel Comics #1 published in 1939, featuring the Human Torch in his first iteration by Carl Burgos. While Marvel Comics would remain a popular publisher over the remainder of the century, it became a juggernaut thanks to the success of 2008’s Iron Man — spawning the Marvel Cinematic Universe that currently encompasses 23 movies. While Marvel movies and video games were produced before 2008, current titles like Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man and Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers no doubt owe their existence to the MCU....

Ubisoft Massive reports that the studio has fixed the bug that was deleting agents, though restoring the lost characters will require downtime for the servers. Many players hoping to jump into the brand new incursion added by yesterday’s big April update for The Division were left scratching their heads as the game failed to find their characters. As it turns out, The Division’s latest update brought a pretty awful bug with it, resulting in several players randomly getting their agents deleted with no warning....

The entertainment industry is full of award ceremonies, and gaming is no exception. Countless outlets and organizations give out awards for what they believe are the cream of the crop, but the biggest gaming awards show of them all has to be The Game Awards. The Game Awards is the brainchild of journalist Geoff Keigley and the spiritual successor to the often woeful Spike Video Game Awards. In a new update on the official PlayStation blog, Sony President Shuhei Yoshida announces that the long-awaited The Last Guardian will be delayed from October to December. It goes without saying that The Last Guardian had garnered a reputation as one of gaming’s most infamous development hell projects, until it was re-revealed at E3 2015. Following delay upon delay since its announcement nearly a decade ago, it appeared that there was light at the end of the tunnel when Team Ico announced an official release date of October 25, 2016, for the long-gestating title....

Naughty Dog unveils its plans to celebrate the fictional Outbreak Day from The Last of Us, with the game and its DLC going on sale alongside the release of a brand new poster. In the world of The Last of Us, Outbreak Day was hardly a cause for celebration. September 26 marks the date on which the title’s Cordyceps virus reached critical mass, leading to untold horrors for the surviving human beings in the world....

At the PlayStation Experience in September, Sony shocked the world by finally revealing the long-rumored The Last of Us: Part 2, featuring an older Ellie and a return to the grim world of post-apocalyptic USA. The Master Trials DLC pack added many new aspects to Breath of the Wild, with new armor sets and the titular Master Trials as the meat of the expansion. However, one of the more challenging aspects added was Master Mode, a harder version of Link’s adventures through Hyrule. Master Mode is hard enough on its own, with stronger and more aggressive enemies, tweaked mechanics, and altered enemy placements. That said, there are ways to make the playthrough even harder for those who think of themselves as masochists....

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is beloved for many reasons. The breathtaking scenery, wonderful characters, and exciting gameplay are called out constantly by fans, as they sing the praises of BotW. Then, there is the music. The original soundtrack for BotW is expansive, with more than 200 songs. And make no mistake about it, there is tons of substance and quality to match the large quantity. Breath of the Wild’s score is a departure for The Legend of Zelda, but a masterful one....
