This Star Trek: Discovery review contains spoilers. Star Trek: Discovery Episode 8 If you want peace, prepare for war. That’s the translation of the Latin title of tonight’s Star Trek: Discovery. Perhaps a better title might have been: You can’t be neutral on a moving starship — something Saru learned the hard way in a riveting, thematically-complex episode that had these characters finally, you know, discovering something. “Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum” saw Burnham, Tyler, and Saru (#DreamTeam) on their very own away mission, exploring a planet called Pahvo (a half-Pandora, half-Fraggle Rock type planet) in hopes of using its natural vibrations to create a sonar capable of finding cloaked Klingon ships....

One of the biggest content additions in Stardew Valley’s recent 1.5 update is Ginger Island, a new location with several new NPCs, mini-games, puzzles, and collectibles. The tropical location has already become a favorite destination for players, but what many fans likely don’t know about the new island is that it was inspired by Super Mario 64. Stardew Valley’s 1.5 patch released on PC in December and added several new features to the game, including a new farm layout, quests, events, mechanics, and items....

Starfield was center stage at the Xbox/Bethesda joint presentation at E3 this afternoon, and although we got a release date and a brand new teaser trailer, no gameplay or even a plot-driven cinematic was shown to give us an idea of what Starfield is really about. Despite leaked images and trailers, Starfield remains largely shrouded in mystery. Marvelous’s farming simulation game Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town has slowly been building up hype for its launch in March 2021. Previous updates that drew fan attention included the reveal of new Olive Town NPCs that players will meet in the game. And now, the development team has recently announced a new expansion pass that will bring more content into the title after its release, particularly the return of marriage candidates from previous games....

One Street Fighter 5 player is working on a mod that will finally add arcade mode to the game, saying that they hope it convinces Capcom to introduce the mode officially. When Street Fighter 5 was released in early 2016, many criticized the game for feeling unfinished, saying that it was incredibly lacking in terms of gameplay content. Although Capcom has said that it is working hard to address these concerns, with the Street Fighter 5 story mode being a prime example, fans still aren’t satisfied with the available modes....

Since the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League reveal trailer, new information about the game has slowly come to light, including some of the voice actors behind the iconic characters. It was already revealed that Tara Strong is playing Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and now it’s been confirmed that none other than WWE superstar Samoa Joe is providing the voice for King Shark in the game....

As players progress through the main storyline of Watch Dogs: Legion, the side missions will slowly unlock as it gets closer and closer to the end of the game. It’s probably easiest to just wait until the main plot is finished, so there are no quests locked that prevent characters from progressing. With fifteen possible quests available for players to complete in the post game, not all missions are cut from the same cloth....

The Mass Effect franchise brought with it an arsenal of cool sci-fi weaponry, the likes of which we might see in the far future. From sniper rifles to shotguns and energy cannons, there’s something for every gun-nut and every playstyle. Different weapons perform better for certain players depending on their chosen class and playstyle, but some guns are a cut above the rest and deserve special mention. Anyone who is planning another run through the Mass Effect series might do well to seek out these beauties....

The next-gen versions of Mortal Kombat 11 are here - and from the look of it, they’re as good as this game is going to get. That’s no small feat. The base game is one of the best fighters in recent years, with a diverse and varied roster backed up by some of the tightest mechanics on the market. People weened on Tekken and ArcSys fighters aren’t always the biggest fans of the Netherrealm approach, but MK11’s bonkers sales numbers prove that the games have their audience....

It’s the eighth part in the Conjuring universe, the third starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren, yet director Michael Chaves says The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is going to be “very different” from the rest of the franchise. After revealing the first 11 minutes of the film to journalists, Chaves, who also made Conjuring universe movie The Curse of La LLorona, explains that the intention for the third installment of the main franchise was always to “blow the doors off the haunted house experience and take the Warrens out into the world,” but this particular story comes with a unique set of perils not yet tackled within the Conjuring universe....

An image posted by Xbox Italy on its official Facebook page appears to suggest that Ubisoft MMO The Division will be getting an open beta later this month. With Ubisoft’s multiplayer shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division being one of the year’s most highly anticipated titles, fans on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 have been making the most of the game’s closed beta. Although the beta offers a small slice of gameplay, Ubisoft recently extended the tests by a day so that players would have as much of a chance to explore as possible....

While many multiplayer gamers tend to move about in pre-formed groups, there are plenty who prefer to fly solo. Some do it by choice and others have come to accept that their friends simply don’t enjoy the games they do. Ubisoft Massive officially releases the Survival update for Tom Clancy’s The Division on PlayStation 4 alongside a patch that provides support for the PS4 Pro console. Several days ago, Ubisoft Massive promised that its third-person shooter, Tom Clancy’s The Division, would receive an update that provides the game with support for Sony’s PS4 Pro. Now, the developer has made good on its word by officially releasing the patch for the upgraded console today alongside the game’s long-awaited Survival update for The Division’s PlayStation 4 fans....

A surprise crossover between Tom Clancy’s The Division and the gacha game Girls’ Frontline is happening soon. Fans of the anime strategy game app and Ubisoft’s online third person shooter, The Division, can finally combine their favorite series. Girls’ Frontline involves players, or Commanders, taking control of signature T-Dolls earned through gacha features. By gathering up a group of soldiers, Commanders can send these echelons into the field to complete various objectives....

The Elder Scrolls 6 is still a long way from release, and in fact, isn’t expected to launch until the next-generation consoles arrive at the earliest. However, Bethesda has recently touched on some of the technology it’s utilizing to bring the game to life, and how it will potentially be a leap forward for the franchise - at least from a graphics standpoint. As detailed at PAX East 2019, Bethesda will be using photogrammetry to scan real-world 3D environments and people into its future games in an attempt to make them look more realistic....
