When Netflix hosted its Q2 2022 earnings call on July 19, the company was expected to share that it had lost roughly 2 million subscribers in the quarter. Much to investors’ surprise, however, the streamer reported a loss of only 970,000! What can be credited for this good news? Nintendo Switch Online originally started out as a poor deal for subscribers, as they only received a small library of free NES games for signing up. Nintendo Switch Online is a lot cheaper than similar services (like PS+), but competitors tend to give away contemporary games....

During this weekend’s 2GGC: Civil War event in Santa Ana, California, professional Super Smash Bros. player Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios was bested by new kid on the block Luhtie, who, in an massive upset, kicked him back to 49th place in the overall tournament. The best-of-five series was brutal, but ended in Luhtie defeating the well-known champion and a crowd of people cheering in shocked celebration. Many thought the event, which pits some of best Super Smash Bros....

SUPERHOT Team has recently announced that Superhot: Mind, Control, Delete, the spin-off to its innovative 2016 shooter, will be releasing on July 16, 2020, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One for $24.99. A roguelike/horde-mode take on the slow-motion puzzle-esque original, this new game will be free to anyone that owns the original Superhot. The title originally went into early access on Steam back in 2017 as an experiment for expanding the brand....

The Tales series is one of Japan’s most beloved and long-running JRPG series. With a myriad of games spanning multiple console generations, the Tales series stands out among other JRPGs for a laundry list of different reasons. The first entry in the Tales series, Tales of Phantasia, was released all the way back in 1995 for the Super Famicom in Japan. Bandai Namco announced on July 31 that Tekken 7 will see its next major update this Fall with the launch of Season Pass 4. At the Bandai Namco’s Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable, the reveal confirmed that the new season will bring an update to character balance, brand new moves for all fighters, and online play improvements. One of the most chaotic boss fights in Terraria is the Empress Of Light. This Lisa Frank-esque fairy is part of the Hallow biome and is only available in Hardmode. Hardmode turns on in your world after killing all the main bosses at the beginning of the game, ending with the Wall Of Flesh. The Empress Of Light is an optional boss that may even be set off by accident. You can only summon her after the sixth Hardmode boss, the Golem, is defeated....

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) was a low budget horror movie Director Tobe Hooper made to cut his teeth on. That The Texas Chainsaw Massacre laid down nearly the total groundwork for the entire slasher genre surprised him as much as anyone. Based VERY loosely on the Ed Gein murders of the 1950s, Hooper shot on the fly a horror cheapie that starred central Texas unknowns. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a fascinating little picture that relies more on mood than violence....

When Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was revealed during last year’s PS5 showcase, it was the first game that really sold me on what next-gen would be about. We’d been told lots about improved load times and better graphics, but it was hard to imagine that the upcoming consoles would represent any giant leap, especially when Ghost Of Tsushima and The Last Of Us Part 2 already looked incredible. All that tech flimflam about ‘more triangles’ didn’t really do it for me either....

If you’re lucky enough to get a PlayStation 5 pre-ordered, then you’ll be met with a number of games on November 12. The Electric-type has been an interesting one in competitive Pokemon. Offensively, most Electric-type Pokemon are known to be strong attackers – especially on the special side. But they are only super-effective vs. two types and are completely walled by Ground-types. Defensively, it only has one weakness – the aforementioned Ground-type – but there hasn’t been a case yet of any Electric-type Pokemon notably specializing in that side of battling. Regardless, a lot of Pokemon with the Electric-type paired with another suitable type have proven to be assets in the current metagame....

Monster Hunter: World is full of rich, beautiful landscapes that hunters can explore. Within these landscapes are camps, which are hidden areas that hunters can use for quick travel as well as to re-spawn and to farm. The tricky part is finding them. Since they are far away from the monsters and considering the fact that the game doesn’t show their locations, these camps are probably more difficult to find than challenging than battling the monsters....

Arguably the defining feature of any Pokemon game is its choice of starters. From Bulbasaur to Sobble, these adorable creatures quickly become the ace in players’ starting lineups. Many also evolve into impressive beasts that undoubtedly earn the title of “Pocket Monster”. With eight generations to date, however, some starters are bound to outshine others. A few months back, Blizzard accidentally leaked the fact that it was expanding on World of Warcraft Classic by actually adding in the first old expansion that eventually led up to where World of Warcraft is today. Of course, that starts with The Burning Crusade, which originally came out in 2007, but this also implies that Blizzard plans to eventually release Wath of the Lich King Classic, Cataclysm Classic, Mists of Panderia Classic, and so on and so forth....
