A major point of entry into Star Wars‘ new The High Republic series of books and comics, A Test of Courage by Justina Ireland is a decent middle grade adventure. At best, it reminds me of the deep emotions that drove the characters in the 2000s Jedi Apprentice series about Obi-Wan Kenobi’s childhood. At worst, it proves that The High Republic aimed a little too high with its marketing. Set 200 years before The Phantom Menace, the novel stars an ensemble cast of new Star Wars characters....

If you watched Starfield‘s E3 2021 trailer (and we know you did), the one word that probably jumped out at you was “constellation.” Granted, that’s probably because the Starfield trailer didn’t give us much to work with in terms of story, gameplay, or anything else, but there’s no denying that the word “constellation” was featured prominently enough in the preview to make it clear that the game will revolve around it in some way....

Can we crown the new king of trailers? Pixel Titans’ latest trailer for STRAFE, titled “All Star,” is the best trailer yet of 2016 and will be hard to dethrone. Video game publisher and developer Capcom releases new footage featuring a run down of the forthcoming character Kolin’s moveset for Street Fighter 5. About a couple of weeks ago, Capcom officially unveiled that it will be adding Kolin to the roster of its fighting game Street Fighter 5 as a playable character at the end of this month on February 28, 2017. With her debut in the fifth installment in the long-running series set for next week, Capcom has decided to give fans of the game a better idea of how Kolin will do battle with a brand new video that displays her moveset against some of the other combatants in Street Fighter 5....

Grezzo, the Toyko-based developer behind numerous Legend of Zelda games, is reportedly developing a “medieval” and “stylish” game that “isn’t photo-realistic,” according to a couple of game designer job descriptions on the studio’s website. The job descriptions read, “The game will use Unity, VisualStudio, git, redmine, and jenkins. The approach to the game’s design will be ‘medieval’ and ‘stylish.’ It won’t be photorealistic but takes elements from reality and puts a design twist on them....

Games Done Quick, the semi-annual speedrunning marathon that raises millions of dollars for charity, has made an announcement on the status of this year’s Summer Games Done Quick. With the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic not showing any signs of subsiding, the organizers have no choice but to postpone the event. Started in 2010, Games Done Quick has grown year after year from a cobbled together event held in the basement of founder Mike Uyama’s mom’s house, to a week-long celebration of games while raising money for great causes....

In only three months, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold 22.4 million units, according to Nintendo’s most recent financial data. This makes the game the second-highest selling game on the Nintendo Switch, only behind Mario Kart 8 Deluxe by around 4 million units. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is also the second highest-selling game of 2020, behind 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Half of the sales came in the first 11 days after launch, making the game the fastest-seller in the Nintendo Switch’s lifetime and one of the fastest-selling games of all time....

Trailing all the way back to the late ’80s, Mega Man has been busy releasing over 50 games. Giving fans a huge array of boss’s to compete with, the main series has held the toughest battles. Depending on what playstyle is chosen, most bosses can cause some issues. Only a few lurk at the top of the pack who challenge most players who decide to take on the challenge. Today was a big deal for Xbox Game Pass, as the service was mentioned dozens of times on the big stage at Microsoft’s Xbox E3 2018 press conference.
