After completing his PhD in Early Medieval History, Ryan Lavelle picked up a novel dramatising the events of King Alfred’s early reign. The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell was the first in what was then known as the Saxon Stories saga. It told the story of Uhtred, a fictional 9th century Northumbrian warrior raised by Vikings who, despite a conflicted relationship with the king of Wessex, became Alfred’s military tactician. The Washington Justice took to Twitter to announce Chung-hee “Stitch” Lee would be joining the team on a long-term contract. This news comes after the Justice recently announced Stitch’s Vancouver Titans teammate Hyeon-Woo “JJANU” Choi also signed with Washington on a long-term contract. Both players were picked up by Washington a few weeks back on temporary 14-day contracts as sort of a “trial period” with the team. Stitch, like the rest of the former Vancouver squad, was released from the Titans following a falling out between the team and management despite finishing second in the 2019 season and looking strong at the very beginning of the season....
