The Last of Us 2 was one of the biggest video game releases in the industry last year, garnering multiple awards for its narrative and technical achievements while also stirring up a bit of controversy regarding how Joel’s storyline was treated in the sequel. Even with these criticisms specifically geared towards the storyline aside, the gameplay, tone and overall feel of this post apocalpytic landscape were elements considered at the top of the class in gaming experiences....

The Last of Us Part 2 is scarier than the first game, relying on a series of well-placed jump scares. The original had Joel face off against creepy enemies in dark corridors, but the game rarely relied on the oft-overused horror trope. The sequel’s upgraded graphics make horror-filled encounters more intense, though. An infected can attack when least expected—it’s never safe. Most jump scares are from scripted segments, while some can happen organically....

Disney bought out Fox which gave them the reigns to the Uncanny X-Men and Marvel’s first family, the Fantastic Four. That’s finally beginning to bleed into the production as the new Disney+ series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, is sporting some of its own content that previously would not have flown. WandaVision already ‘brought back’ Quicksilver with the Fox actor playing the role - sort of. That wouldn’t have been possible prior to the acquisition as the deal was that the MCU could bring in the twins for one film, with Wanda being the only one allowed to appear in subsequent movies....

Many grown adults complained that Pokemon Sword and Shield - games made for children - were too easy. To them, I say, try Nuzlocking. Sure, the new entries are easier than previous ones. The Last of Us 2 may have scooped Game of the Year from The Game Awards 2020, but Steam has turned to the Wild West for its choice. Red Dead Redemption 2 has been crowned as the respective winner of 2020, joining a list of other dark horse winners. Red Dead Redemption 2 received the accolade along with a win in the Outstanding Story-Rich Game category. Hades, Doom Eternal, Fall Guys, and Death Stranding all lost out on first place when Steam awarded the title to Rockstar’s action-adventure for its “immersive gameplay…well-crafted characters [and] immaculate design”....
