The summer season is quickly winding down, and with the slowest part of the year behind us, it’s full steam ahead for the gaming industry. Let’s take a look at what the final leg of summer has to offer! Kicking off the month is Ultra Street Fighter IV on the 5th, available for PS3 and Xbox 360, with the Windows version arriving on the 8th. Next up is 7 Days To Die, creeping its way onto Windows, Mac and Linux machines on the 17th....

Supposedly debuting next year, details on The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been somewhat brief, with Daedelic’s next-generation, stealth-adventure still remaining something of a mystery in the eyes of intrigued Middle-Earth fans. Of course, they know the game will be coming to next-generation consoles in 2021 and feature an emphasis on moral-choice, but other than that, the studio has kept its cards relatively close to its chest. However, a new interview with IGN looks to change that, with the studio revealing lots more about The Lord of the Rings adaptation as well as unveiling a fresh look at the game through a cinematic teaser....

If you thought Bloober Team’s upcoming horror game The Medium looked about as wild as it can get, a new live-action trailer cranks the horror and intrigue up to eleven. The trailer - which was produced in cooperation with VFX and animation studio, Platige Image - features the game’s playable protagonist, Marianne, as she navigates the game’s dual-realities, one of which is obviously more “alive” than the other. We see other characters from previously released pieces of gameplay footage, including the young girl named Sadness - who shows up in both her Spirit World and (presumably) pre-Spirit World forms - as well as the mysterious man who just looks like someone who is up to no good....

Released in July of 1996 for the Super Famicom, the original Star Ocean was a late-gen title that pushed its home hardware to its limits. One of the best looking and sounding games on the SNES, Star Ocean was a fantastic debut title for Tri-Ace– a studio composed of several key developers who worked on Tales of Phantasia just one year prior. While Star Ocean may not share the same success as Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, Tri-Ace’s flagship franchise enjoyed a long history of high quality JRPGs....

For all the boldly going where no one has gone before, leaving the galaxy is pretty uncommon within the various narratives of Trek....

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, EA and DICE presented Star Wars Battlefront 2 as a sort of apology for the shortcomings of 2015’s Star Wars Battlefront. The game was poised to regain the trust of fans by offering many features that were left out of the rushed 2015 release, including space battles, a full single player campaign, and more. Unfortunately, the narrative has changed quite dramatically over the last few weeks, thanks to the game’s controversial use of loot boxes....

As if it needed to be said, Electronic Arts had a rough go of it with its last game for the Star Wars franchise with 2017’s launch of Battlefront 2, especially when one considers the fact that the company’s stock dropped in value by $3.1 billion following the fallout from the shooter sequel’s loot box controversy. Now, though, it looks as if the publisher plans on forging ahead with another video game inspired by the property, as a recent job listing suggests that EA is working on an open world game inspired by the science fiction brand....

It’s been two years since Valve first announced their Steam Machines and Steam Controller, and it was almost another year before the company revealed the first few design options for their Steam console. Finally, after much waiting, it looks like Valve is finally ready to release their Steam Machines and Steam Controllers for consumer use. Valve today announced that they will be launching their first official Steam Machines, as well as the Steam Controller and Steam Link, on November 10th....
