There is no doubt that the Merlin2 is a great tool for filmmakers. On light cameras, it’s easy to hold for extended periods, but pop a 5D MK III on, with a wide-angle lens, and it becomes incredibly heavy. This is certainly a brilliantly constructed piece of video kit, but it can try the patience of even the most passionate operator.
