Wrestling fans have missed out on seeing a number of legendary grapplers go toe-to-toe with modern day superstars, so the concept of dream matches are a tragically common and inevitable sight amongst the McMahon-carved landscape. That’s why there’s always an ample amount of speculation leading up to the release of the annual WWE video game franchise, and it appears that one beloved legend from the days of WCW will finally be lacing up his boots in the series’ next iteration, WWE 2K15.

2K Sports has revealed that the long awaited resurgence of Sting will indeed be happening in WWE 2K15, but the legend won’t be available to just everyone. Instead, the baseball bat-wielding madman will be offered as a “pre-order launch exclusive,” which is fancy marketing speak for “pre-order bonus.”

As many fans of the WWE are well aware, the annual video game franchise is notorious for offering Hall of Fame-bound wrestlers as incentives to lay down money for the game in advance of its release, so this move won’t come as a surprise in the slightest. What is a little surprising about this announcement, however, is that players will receive, not one, but two different versions of Sting when they pick up their copy in October.

Now that John Cena is officially adorning the cover of WWE 2K15 and Sting will be joining the roster, all that remains for 2K to do is confirm the remaining combatants that’ll be featured within the forthcoming title. While mainstays like Randy Orton, Triple H, and Roman Reigns are givens, it’ll be the final list of legends that fans will be paying attention to.

Whoever else Yuke’s end up putting in the game, it’s safe to say that at least a couple of surprises await longtime fans of the franchise. Regardless, Sting’s inclusion is something that fans have been asking for for quite some time. In other words, they “feel it.”

What do you think of Sting’s long awaited inclusion? What other wrestlers do you hope join the newly announced veteran?

WWE 2K15 will be slamming onto the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4 on October 28, 2014 in North America and October 31, 2014 internationally.
