In Story of Seasons, if you want to know anything at all about animals then Agate is the woman to speak to. She is the Safari Park Ranger and has a huge fondness for animals of all types.
You’ll often find her wandering around the wild areas situated between the towns and the farms. She likes to keep an eye on the animals around here to make sure they’re safe. You’ll find her very friendly, especially if you ask her about animals. She’s also very knowledgable.
10 You Can’t Find Agate Immediately
When you first start the game Agate won’t be around. Her appearance actually only comes during Fall 1 or later. Once the calendar hits this date walk into the Guild Hall and she will come and introduce herself to you.
Once you’ve met her, the Safari Park will be unlocked and you can also expect to meet her wandering around the wild areas. Her home is on the west side of town, just South of Jonas’ place.
9 She Will Take You To The Safari Park
Agate plays a similar role to Charles in Harvest Moon: A New Beginning by taking you to and from the Safari Park. To access this facility all you need to do is speak to Veronica at the Guild Hall and you’ll have the option to ask about going to the Safari Park.
If this seems too long-winded you can just ride your horse to the Sarafi Park. However, only Agate’s transport allows you to take farm animals with you so they can graze in the area.
8 Agate’s Fashion Favorites Are Unique
Agate’s style loves are a mix of different gendered clothing as well as some animal costumes. Her favorites include girls’ and boys’ Jumpsuits and Kimonos as well as navy streetwear, orange work outfit, apron skirt, kung fu or traditional farmer outfits, and the yellow sweater.
In terms of animal outfits, she loves costumes for cat, dog, bear, panda, and penguin. These can be accessorized with her favorite white cat or dog ears, a witch’s hat, cowboy hat, or bandana. It’s quite a mix!
7 Agate’s Likes Are Linked To Animals
Agate’s likes are directly tied to animals. She likes fish feed, pet feed, rabbit feed, and chicken feed, all of which are 50G each. She also loves insects, animal treats, golden crops, fruit jams and pies, glass stone, and turnip salad. All these will reward 300 FP.
However, her favorite gift is actually cold noodles, a recipe sold by Suzanne the traveling salesperson who will call sometime after Fall 7 of year 2 as one of three salespeople who appear every 20-30 days or so with random recipes.
Since this is so difficult to acquire it’s good to know that Agate also loves Magic Bait, which Otmar will craft at his general store. Her other loves include pink diamonds, various yogurts and cheeses, and rabbit cloth.
6 Make Sure You Don’t Give Her Fish Or Tea
Agate does like some fish, specifically squid, and giant fish like black bass, salmon, and Arowana, but mostly they don’t go down well. She actually hates fish-based cooked recipes like angler fish stew as well as spicy curry, pumpkin Doria, and cheese fondue.
Her horror gift is Tom Yun Goong and she also dislikes tea-based cooked recipes, tea leaves, wild materials such as weeds, junk items like cans and coins, poison mushrooms, and all soup category cooked recipes.
5 You Can Enter A Romantic Relationship With Her
Agate is a romanceable character which means that you can trigger different flower events with her to build up to a budding romance and maybe even marriage. If this is your goal make sure you also work on your farmhouse as you’ll need extra space for a wife and children.
Firstly, you’ll need to build up friendship points (FP) with her and this can be done through daily conversation, giving gifts, wearing clothes she loves, and showing her animals. You’ll then unlock specific events that can further boost your relationship.
4 She Loves Playing With Foxes
Once your friendship points hit 5000 you’ll spot a white flower in her character portrait. This means that you can now find her playing with foxes on a mountain path and go and join in to gain 2000 FP.
To trigger the event simply head over to the Forest Road between 9.30 and 12.00 on a sunny Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Agate will be on the path playing with foxes and will ask if you want to play as well.
3 You Can Help Her Find Her Lost Rabbit
The next event will require you to have played with the foxes and increased your relationship so Agate’s flower is now purple. As before you’ll need to head to the Forst Road on a sunny Tuesday, Thursday or Friday but this time between 21.00 and 23.30.
You’ll spot Agate looking for a rabbit that hitched a ride out of the Safari in her bag then jumped out. If you help her look she’ll reward you with her thanks and 2000 FP.
2 You Can Take Your Relationship To The Next Level
If you want to find out more about Agate you’ll need to show her your commitment. After making sure her flower is blue and you’ve completed the previous events you can become her boyfriend.
To do this you need a sewing studio where you can use the accessory bench to make a commitment ring with silver and fluorite. You can get these by mining and diving or from vendors in the Antique shop and Silk Country in the latter half of year 2 onwards. You then need to take the ring to her on a sunny Saturday or Sunday before 23.00.
1 More Events Help Build Your Future
Once Agate has accepted your commitment ring you can build your relationship to a yellow flower level. Once this is done heading over to her house between 22.30 and 23.30 on a sunny Saturday or Sunday will let you have dinner with her and find out more about her collections and her travels.
Finally, you’ll need a pink flower level or higher with Agate and a purple or higher level with Lillie to trigger the last flower event. Walking from Piedmont to Oak Tree Town in the East between 10.00 and 13.00 at the weekend will see you bump into Lillie.
As Lillie tells you that Agate was looking for you, she’s actually observing from a distance. This leads to a conversation about Agate feeling a little jealous seeing you talk to another woman now you’re going steady.
Once you acknowledge the issue your relationship will grow and can lead to a future proposal, marriage, and children by following the usual steps.
