If you’re into older gentlemen then Story of Season’s Klaus may be the eligible bachelor you seek. You’ll typically find him in his home on the Western side of town, any time after you begin the game.

Klaus often comes across as insecure, especially about the age gap between him and your character, but he promises to treat you like a princess. If you want to seek a happy ending with the perfume maker then these are some things you need to know about him.

10 Klaus Is A Perfume Maker

While Klaus doesn’t have a store in Oak Tree Town he does work in his home making scents. His scent research takes place Sundays through Thursdays for a couple of hours from 8:00 until 10:00 then again from 19:30 until 22:00.

You’ll also notice he goes out of town on Sundays and Wednesdays between 11.30 and 18:00, although he doesn’t disclose where he’s off to. We can only assume he’s off making gold.

We don’t know Klaus’ exact age but we do know he’s lived in the town for a long while. His birthday is on Spring 24 and he’ll often talk to you about an age gap, suggesting it may be quite large.

9 Klaus May Be Hiding A Dark Past

If you watch the TV interviews one of them seems to imply that Klaus is hiding a dark past. A man who used to work for him starts to discuss Klaus forming a gang to “muscle the bad guys right outta town” but Klaus himself interrupts.

He claims he was “immature back then, with an outsized sense of justice” and won’t let the man discuss it, leaving many questions unanswered. Questions that we’ve not seen discussed anywhere else in the game.

8 He Likes Dark Clothing

Klaus seems to have a thing for darkness. Not only are his favorite wrapping paper colors black and blue but he also loves a number of dark outfits.

The list of Klaus’ favorite outfits includes black boys’ overalls, smith’s outfit, jinbel, school uniforms, habits, and doctors’ uniforms. He also likes blue ninja garb, butler’s uniforms, jumpsuits, and vests.

7 Klaus Has Simple Tastes

If you’re looking to impress Klaus then he has very simple tastes. His favorite gift is Bouillabaisse, made from a fish. You need to buy the basic soup recipes from Silk COuntry then the specific recipe from the Rose Country vendor.

He also loves fruit wines as well as black cloth and yarn. The final tier of liked gifts includes tea leaves, tea drinks, and juices. Klaus also appreciates the classics Stew and Macaroni and cheese.

6 He Really Hates Herbs And Spices

Klaus’ disliked gifts are very herb focused. He doesn’t like herb cheeses, butter, or actual herbs. You can also lose FP by giving him shakes and smoothies, snack recipes, animal food and treats as well as curry powder or spices.

He hates chili pepper seeds, pepper, poison mushrooms, spicy fried squid, spicy curry, and kimchi, while his horror gift is Tom Yun Goong.

5 You Can Romance Klaus

Klaus will allow you to build up a romance with him but it plays out a little more hesitantly than most. You’ll need to build up your friendship with him first to be able to strike up a relationship.

This can be done through interactions, gifts, and doing social events when they become available.

4 He Will Craft A Scent For You

The first flower event takes place once you have 5000 Friendship Points and you’ll need to visit Klaus between 19:20 and 21:00 on any sunny day.

This will trigger Klaus to talk to you about perfume. He wants to make you a scent to help you chill after working on the farm. Your reaction will affect your relationship with him and can help unlock the next level.

3 Klaus Has A Different Response For EU Players When You Disturb His Work

The purple flower event, which occurs at Klaus’ home on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday between 8:00 and 12:00, differs depending on your location. It begins with Klaus working and asking you to wait.

What happens next depends on where you are. In some places, he talks about choosing your words carefully, while in the EU version he talks about your assertiveness being refreshing. Both versions will embarrass you but in different ways.

2 He Can Be Romantic, Sometimes

At this point, you’ll need to give Klaus a commitment ring if you want to take your relationship further. Assuming you choose to do this then you can then get your relationship to the yellow flower level and be going steady to trigger the next event.

Simply walk from your farm area to the Forest road between 14:00 and 17:00 on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday to meet him along the path. After a brief conversation, he’ll offer to take you horseback riding and treat you like a princess every day.

1 He Will Offer You A Future With Him, If You Want It

The final event with Klaus is a little weird. You see him chatting to Iris after walking into Mistel’s Antique Shop between 12:00 and 15:00 on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday. Mistel makes a comment about them enjoying themselves and you get upset.

Klaus will then chase you and ask if you want to be with him. Here he mentions the age gap and expresses his love for you. Now it’s your choice if you want to take this relationship to the next level.
