A clip of South Korean Twitch streamer TVCrank has gone viral after he destroyed his copy of critically-acclaimed PlayStation 4 exclusive game The Last of Us 2. The Last of Us 2 has broken sales records and has earned near-universal acclaim from critics, but there are some very vocal players who have vehemently disagreed with some of the plot decisions Naughty Dog made with the game.

In the clip, TVCrank shuts off his PlayStation 4, takes out his copy of The Last of Us 2, and at first tries to tear it in half. He then grabs a pair of scissors and cuts through the disc, but doesn’t stop there. TVCrank then cuts through another disc, which appears to be a copy of The Last of Us Remastered.

To explain why TVCrank became so upset about The Last of Us 2 would be to venture into major spoiler territory for the first couple hours of the game. So those that have yet to play The Last of Us 2 will want to proceed with caution. The embedded clip doesn’t show any Last of Us 2 story spoilers, though, so those that just want to watch TVCrank destroy his copy of the game can safely watch it.

MAJOR SPOILERS COME AFTER THE VIDEO.

Those that have seen extended versions of this clip of TVCrank destroying his TLOU2 disc know that this happened right after one of the game’s most controversial scenes. TVCrank turned off his PS4 right after the scene where Abby beats Joel to death with a golf club. This scene is undeniably shocking and has definitely made many Last of Us fans upset, but the reason why TVCrank reacted the way he did may be more than what it appears on the surface.

While we have not been able to independently verify this information, many online claim that TVCrank destroyed his TLOU2 copy because of the recent death of his father. Apparently, Joel in the first game reminded TVCrank of his father, and he related to the relationship between Joel and Ellie. Assuming this information is true, then it’s no surprise TVCrank became upset enough to destroy his copy of the game on stream.

TVCrank isn’t the only one who has reacted negatively to The Last of Us 2 since the game’s launch. The Last of Us 2 has been review bombed on Metacritic as a result of people being upset with Naughty Dog’s choices with the game. Despite this, The Last of Us 2 has still earned strong reviews from professional critics and has been a commercial success so far.

The Last of Us 2 is available now, exclusively for PS4.
