Capcom will introduce Street Fighter: Duel into its cult-classic franchise this coming weekend. This new Street Fighter entry will be a 3-vs-3 mobile game licensed by Capcom and published by Chinese gaming giant Tencent. Duel is scheduled to be announced on June 27 during the company’s yearly gaming conference.

Game journalist Daniel Ahmad posted some gameplay and promotional videos from Duel on his Twitter. While the game seems to adhere to traditional 2D fighting game mechanics for the most part, the videos also showcase card collecting mechanics. These elements are usually associated with mobile “gacha” games, where players spend in-game currency to roll from a selective pool of characters in hopes of collecting their favorites. Duel’s character rarity seems to go from R, SR, to SSR – with R being the most common rarity and SSR being rarest of all. One promotional video shows that Ryu, arguably Street Fighter’s most recognizable character, is of SSR rarity.

Besides gacha game mechanics, Duel also seems to be mixing in some strategy game elements. The gameplay video shows what appears to be Ryu’s skill tree, as well as some item cards that players can play during matches to buff their characters. The video also highlights Ryu’s legendary Hadouken, which is shown to activate after successfully inputting the combo with an in-game joystick.

Duel’s gameplay seems to center around pitting teams of three fighters against other players in 3v3 PVP, or against enormous boss enemies and trash mobs in PVE game modes. One trailer seemed to hint at an online PVP system, but the game has not yet been confirmed for a global release. Players who want to try Duel out upon release will either have to be Chinese residents or find a VPN.

Longtime fans of the Street Fighter franchise might be pleased to see that some of its most iconic characters–Ryu, Chun Li, and Ken, to name a few–are rehashing their classic looks. Nothing wrong with new outfits, of course, but classics are classics for a reason.

Other games set to be announced during Tencent’s annual gaming conference are FIFA Online 4: Volta Mode, Metal Slug Mobile, and Dynasty Warriors Mobile. Duel is currently open for pre-registration, and over 2.2 million players have already registered.
