Capcom announced this morning that Street Fighter V, its current big-ticket fighting game, will be getting one final season of DLC soon. Many assumed that the recently released Champion Edition would be the last hurrah, but it seems that Capcom has bigger things in store for this EVO darling.

No price or release details were given, but we know that season five will include five additional characters and another three stages to battle on. It, essentially, falls in line with the previous seasons and will bring the roster up to a total of 45 combatants. That’s pretty good for what is going to be a four-year-old game now.

It will be interesting to see what Capcom brings to Street Fighter V in the coming months. Many are speculating that the new characters could be returning veterans, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see entirely new characters. Out of all of the major entries, V has the largest amount of new characters introduced via updates.

It would be great to see the likes of Dan Hibiki make an appearance, but I’d also welcome five brand-new fighters to close out the game. That would feel like a much better investment than simply characters I can already play.
