It wouldn’t be an anticipated new game release without a day one update, would it? Let’s see what’s in store for the first patch of Streets of Rage 4.
As fans of classic side-scrolling brawlers will know, the latest instalment of the iconic Streets of Rage series is close. So darn close, in fact, that you can almost smell the grim, acrid odor of burning fists. It’s been over 25 years since the last true iteration (1994’s Streets of Rage 3), so fans are chomping at the bit to jump back into the fray and clean up all the rage that’s been spilt on those streets.
Dotemu’s new game is set ten years after the last, bringing back franchise favorites Axel Stone, Blaze Fielding, and Adam Hunter alongside new and unlockable characters. There are throwbacks to the originals throughout, as well as modern bells and whistles like online play and a more in-depth combat system which allows for juggles, combos and the like.
Excited as fans will be to hop into the action when the game arrives on April 30, the download will take a little longer than you may have thought. Update 1.01 arrives on launch day, Twisted Voxel reports, adding an extra 1 GB or so to the file size (not that this is very much at all, of course) for a total of 3.1 GB or so. Here are the details of the update in full:
