Streets of Rage 4 revived a dormant franchise and brought fans both new and old back to the Sega classic. With Streets of Rage 4 getting high praise from the gaming community, fans are wondering if there is more beat-em-up action coming their way. Those yearning for more can rest easy knowing that Streets of Rage 4 is getting DLC.
Developer Dotemu confirmed that it is indeed working on new content for Streets of Rage 4. Dotemu followed up the answer to the fan’s most burning question by saying that there is no estimation as to when the new content will be done. The developer assured players that the wait will be worth it since the fans “deserve the best.”
Within the same tweet, Dotemu linked to a Reddit Ask Me Anything it held back in May. It was actually within this AMA that the Dotemu gave early indications that DLC was under heavy consideration and at that point in the pitching phase. With one of the main questions from fans during the AMA focusing on DLC, it seems Dotemu noticed the passionate players looking for more Streets of Rage 4.
Streets of Rage 4 is considered an excellent revival of a beloved franchise. After fans found out that Dotemu was going to handle the upcoming sequel, there was excitement that the developer known for their retro work could do it justice. Since launching back in April, Streets of Rage 4 has gone on to amass a big fanbase of players. One such fan is AEW wrestler Kenny Omega who loved the retro beat-em-up, which even features a reference to his fellow AEW star, Orange Cassidy.
