The four branches of the Eldian military in Attack on Titan consist of the Cadet Corps full of new recruits, the Garrison Regiment that patrols and maintains order within the walls, the Military Police Regiment that tends to internal affairs, and the Scout Regiment.

The latter is responsible for the most dangerous of tasks, including coming into regular contact with the fierce titans that plague the island as well as performing research on these colossal foes and expanding Eldia’s reach outwards. Since scouts are constantly thrown into nightmarish scenarios, many of them have become hardened by battle and rough experiences to the point of developing strengths unseen by most humans in Attack on Titan. Out of all the scouts, the absolute strongest stand out for their bravery, battle prowess, as well as uniquely powerful traits.

13 Samuel Linke-Jackson

Despite not having a huge role in the anime, Samuel is an integral member of the Scout Regiment that was there alongside the main characters since their days in the Cadet Corps. He’s a dark-haired man of average capabilities, however, he deserves recognition for staying alive, which is not something that can be said for other characters.

In the most recent events of the series, Samuel was with the other Scout Regiment members during their surprise attack on Marley. He was among those who pummeled the person who shot Sasha Braus in cold blood.

12 Louise

Louise first appeared in the series when she was saved by Mikasa during the struggle for Trost arc. Since that rescue, Louise has joined the military and was accepted into the Scout Regiment. Using Mikasa as a role model, she lives her life thinking that strength is all that matters in this cruel world.

During the attack on Marley by the Scout Regiment, Louise aided Jean when he attempted to kill the Cart Titan. Despite failing to take the titan down, she managed to kill three members of the Marleyan forces’ Panzer Unit before she and Jean had to retreat.

11 Floch Forster

Floch’s recognized for his outspoken nature. He is unafraid to speak his mind and even had the guts to stand up to Levi on multiple occasions. He is a self-admitted coward, though this is self-deprecation and little else, as he has never backed down from a fight, verbal or physical, and this admission speaks only of his fear of a meaningless death as opposed to a glorious and worthy one.

During the attack on Marley arc, Floch was seen setting up explosives that wantonly destroyed many structures and resulted in the death of many civilians. He was verbally reprimanded by Jean, though retorted defiantly, stating that he believes all Marleyans to be at fault for the suffering he and the other Eldians have faced.

10 Conny Springer

As a comic relief character, viewers would not expect Conny to outlive many others, yet he is one of the scouts who are still active and at the core of the most important military operations. He has been seen time and again backing up his friends and comrades, regardless of the situation, displaying true courage that supersedes his physical prowess in terms of strength.

One of his most noteworthy confirmed kills is when he takes out a member of the immensely dangerous Anti-Personnel Control Squad in Episode 44. As the scouts did battle against this group of trained human-killers, Conny was one of those who got up close and personal with the enemy while others provided cover fire.

9 Sasha Braus

Many write Sasha off as solely being an insatiable glutton, particularly due to the “potato girl” moniker she has earned for herself as a result of sneaking extra food onto her plate and into her face. With that said, even though there’s a lot of comedy to this character, others should not underestimate her strength as a Scout.

As the daughter of a hunter, Sasha learned how to use a bow from a young age. As such, she is very proficient at using such ranged weapons, despite Scouts primarily using melee weaponry to take down their enemies. However, on a few occasions, she has demonstrated that the skills she initially learned to feed herself are more than just for hunting deer and rabbits.

8 Jean Kirschtein

Jean is one of the most skilled out of the entire Scout Regiment when it comes to using omni-directional mobility gear and has displayed this many times in the series. He has many titan deaths under his belt due to his adept maneuvering; he can even adjust himself in open areas with few objects to anchor upon.

He is also very level-headed and considers all actions very carefully. This leads him to be a de facto leader in many situations and his calm guidance has served him and his friends very well. Quick to come up with a plan, Jean is a great ally for the other members of the Scout Regiment to fight alongside.

7 Hange Zoe

The bespectacled member of the Scout Regiment is fiercely inquisitive, especially when it comes to research on titans. Their sharp mind, as well as their prowess with mobility gear, were significant enough that they were chosen as the next commander of the Scout Regiment after Erwin Smith’s death.

Hange leads the Scout Regiment with great conviction and has devised many plans that have allowed the Eldians to secure their home as well as launch a devastating offensive against the Marleyans.

6 Ymir

Cynical and rather pessimistic in most cases, Ymir comes off somewhat selfish, despite being a member of the Scouts, who are known to constantly risk their lives for their nation. With a lot of her motivations being mysterious and obscure, her fellow Scouts initially questioned if she could be trusted.

However, her dedication to protecting her close friends becomes apparent when she revealed that she was actually able to transform into a titan and remain in control. She uses her titan strength to fight off other titans to support the Scout Regiment and her friends, and, as a result, has an innumerable titan kill count. It should also be mentioned that Ymir is a lot older than most other characters and has had to deal with tons of tragedies from her past, which has hardened her to much of the brutality of the world.

5 Armin Arlelt

Arguably the smartest character in the series, Armin is a master strategist that always comes to the most logical conclusion, allowing his reasoning to be of great benefit to his superiors and their planning. His input has been invaluable to the Scout Regiment and usually places him in the middle of all the most important events.

When Armin was chosen to be saved over Erwin, there was much debate among his comrades, though after gaining the power of the Colossal Titan, he has very much proved his worth. In his massive new form, he has single-handedly sunk all of Marley’s ships that have even remotely approached Eldia’s shores.

4 Erwin Smith

No one can become the commander of the Scout Regiment without being sufficiently powerful. Erwin Smith, the 13th commander of the Scout Regiment, was known far and wide for his stalwart determination and unyielding nature. There are few characters as resolute as him, or as intelligent, which makes him a solid choice for the role of commander.

Though, his physical traits are not to be ignored, as he has demonstrated his strength many times over the course of the anime. In addition to felling many titans, Erwin once stopped an attack (albeit aimed at someone else) by the legendarily powerful Levi Ackerman–a feat almost no one else can boast. Even after having his arm ripped off and eaten by a titan, Erwin was able to recover and return to the battlefield sooner than anyone expected.

3 Eren Jaeger

The protagonist of Attack on Titan and possessor of a few powerful traits. He holds the power of the Attack Titan, the most offensively gifted of the Nine Titans that have inherited the power of Ymir Fritz 2,000 years prior to the events of the series. He also holds the power of the Founding Titan, which lets him temporarily control the mindless Pure Titans.

In his human form, Eren is exceptionally skilled with the use of mobility gear. He has a huge number of titan kills under his belt for both his actions as a human and as the Attack Titan. He has also taken out quick a few human threats and acts as the tip of the spear for many Scout Regiment offenses due to his immense power.

2 Mikasa Ackermann

Mikasa, in order to protect Eren, has trained immensely hard to the point of becoming a force of nature in regards to strength and determination. In Episode 9, it was overheard being said that “her prowess is equal to that of a hundred ordinary soldiers”. This is no exaggeration as she has demonstrated not only absurd levels of physical might but also nearly unparalleled efficiency with mobility gear.

She is considered a genius on the battlefield and is the deadliest fighter to emerge from the Cadet Corps’ training in years. She acts as Eren’s bodyguard and has insured on more than one occasion that no one messes with him. She is a peaceful person but when angered turns into a monster that makes titans seem like toddlers.

1 Levi Ackermann

If Mikasa is like a force of nature, Levi is like the armageddon for his adversaries. His kill count of 58 confirmed solo titan takedowns is enough to prove that he is the strongest member of the Scout Regiment by far, as this number exceeds that of any other soldier by over a dozen.

He is equally deadly against human foes, and this was made painfully obvious when he killed 15 members of the highly-trained Anti-Personnel Control Squad. He is unsurpassed in the usage of mobility gear, for he is capable of doing things that should not even be possible for a human in that he, quite literally, turns into a terrifying tornado of metal blades that destroys everything in his way.
