The original 2017 release of Super Lucky’s Tale came with a few shortcomings in hindsight, namely that Super Lucky’s Tale was exclusive to Microsoft platforms. On the plus side, though, everyone who owns the game on Xbox One can now get their hands on its DLC packs for free, no strings attached.

Last month saw the expanded remake of the game, New Super Lucky’s Tale, make its way onto the PS4 and Xbox One. This was good news for the new version, but it also resulted in the original Super Lucky’s Tale being delisted from the Microsoft Store, leaving owners who had never bought its DLC packs, Gilly Island and Guardian Trials, with no way to do so.

Having never planned to delist the game and its add-ons — apparently complex issues involving different publishing and platform partners are to blame for the removal — Playful stated it would try to give Super Lucky’s Tale’s DLC away for free via email. This would have been a tall order for a small studio to handle, but fortunately, that won’t be necessary anymore. Thanks to “overwhelming demand,” the studio has managed to get the Gilly Island and Guardian Trials packs relisted on the Microsoft Store, where they are currently available at no cost.

This deal only applies to the DLC at this time, so newcomers are going to have to settle for putting money down on New Super Lucky’s Tale if they’re interested. That being said, the Xbox version of this underrated 3D platformer does come with the original game and its DLC included, so at least they won’t have to worry about figuring out how to get the add-ons.

New Super Lucky’s Tale is available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
