If only all of us could go on an adventure to Hogwarts and don the magical Sorting Hat. We would find out so much about ourselves while immersed in an enchanting world. You might agree or disagree with the following choice, but the Sorting Hat sometimes gets things wrong, as evidenced by his intent to place Harry Potter in Slytherin.

The Sorting Hat works in mysterious ways and has the power to categorize witches and wizards. Strangely enough, each Super Mario character can be sorted.

12 Mario - Gryffindor

As the titular character of the Super Mario series, Mario has proven time and time again he is as brave as a Gryffindor. A Gryffindor’s element is also fire, much like the fireballs that Mario throws.

Most of the main characters of the Harry Potter are sorted into Gryffindor. Their chivalrous nature makes them heroic. With Godric Gryffindor as his house’s founder, Mario would unquestionably be a shoo-in for the Gryffindor house.

11 Luigi - Ravenclaw

This one is a toss-up since Luigi could have been sorted into Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. While the idea of sorting Luigi with his brother, like many other siblings in the Gryffindor house sounds reasonable, Luigi is not as daring and brave as his older sibling.

Ravenclaws are described as the most intelligent of the Hogwarts houses. As someone who is portrayed as more intelligent than his shorter brother, Luigi would be a close match to Ravenclaw.

10 Wario - Hufflepuff

Wario is usually a secondary character in the Super Mario series, but he has had standalone games in separate franchises. Wario is viewed as an anti-hero, who is much more greedy than Mario. Wario could’ve been sorted into Slytherin, but he’s not nearly as evil as some of the characters on this list. Hufflepuffs are often the people who don’t fit in the other categories. They usually have a good sense of humor too.

9 Bowser - Slytherin

As the main antagonist of the Super Mario video game series, Bowser’s ruthlessness shows no bounds.  Bowser yearns for power like the individuals in his house. Notable Slytherin members include Lord Voldermort, Draco Malfoy, and Severus Snape. With his ghost as the Bloody Baron, Bowser would accomplish terrible but great things in the Slytherin House. Slytherins aren’t always bad, but they often are.

8 Princess Peach - Gryffindor

Although Princess Peach is usually playing the part of the damsel in distress, she is not necessarily a cowardly character. Princess Peach shows her braveness when she is being kidnapped by Bowser.

Of course, we’d like to think of Princess Peach as a character who is in the same house as Mario. Gryffindor individuals often find themselves in relationships with members from the same house, like Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter.

7 Toad - Ravenclaw

Toad would be a fastidious Ravenclaw. In the Super Mario games, Toad is portrayed as a hard-working and analytical individual who is often explaining how to play the game. As one of Princess Peach’s most loyal attendants, Toad possesses many qualities that make him fit the Ravenclaw Hogwarts house. With his house ghost as the Grey Lady, Toad is a Ravenclaw!

6 Princess Daisy - Hufflepuff

Princess Daisy is a tomboy princess in Sarasaland, the setting for Super Mario Land. A plethora of reasons can explain why Princess Daisy is a Hufflepuff. Princess Daisy is kind and has a good sense of fair play. Often overshadowed by Princess Peach, the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Daisy doesn’t fit into any of the other houses. Therefore, Princess Daisy is a Hufflepuff like Cedric Diggory and Newt Scamander.

5 Goomba - Slytherin

A Goomba is a small mushroom-like enemy in the Super Mario games. They used to be allied with the Mushroom Kingdom, at which point they could have been considered a Gryffindor member. Eventually, the Goombas joined the Koopa Troop, which is led by Bowser. They don’t pose a threat to Mario since they can be defeated with one stomp, but they are an enemy. Goombas are like henchmen and would be the equivalent of Crabbe and Goyle. All signs point to Goombas being sorted into the Slytherin house.

4 Yoshi - Gryffindor

As someone who is the main protagonist of numerous games, Yoshi is a secondary character in the Super Mario series. This green dinosaur is part of something known as the Yoshi species. His homeworld is Yoshi’s Island, but in the Harry Potter universe, Yoshi would be considered a Gryffindor. His courage in each game’s appearance shows that he fills the requirements of the house. Yoshi would be a close friend to other Gryffindors like Mario, Princess Peach, Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger.

3 Rosalina - Ravenclaw

The Ravenclaw house is often referred to as the house of the wise. Rosalina would be a gifted witch who would be sorted into Ravenclaw. Also known as The Lady of the Shooting Stars, Rosalina might even be a witch.

Her powers include teleportation (Apparition), telepathy (Legilimency), and force fields (Protego Maxima). Interestingly enough, Rosalina is right-handed in artwork but is left-handed in the games. Rosalina is as cunning as a Ravenclaw!

2 Waluigi - Hufflepuff

“Hey! You might be getting better, but nobody cheats better than Waluigi! You got that?!” Waluigi’s hat is an upside-down “L,” which symbolizes his rivalry with Luigi.

Given Waluigi’s mischievous nature, it would make sense to place him in the Slytherin house. Although he is considered to be evil, his debut game is in Mario Tennis. It could be that Waluigi is just misunderstood. We haven’t seen him in enough games to make that assessment. For now, Waluigi is an oddball like a Hufflepuff.

1 Bowser Jr. - Slytherin

“My daddy is gonna take over this whole stupid island!” This quote alone sums up the character of Bowser Jr. The sorting hat would make the decision to sort Bowser Jr. into Slytherin before it even touches Bowser’s head.

Indeed, there is a stigma surrounding those who are sorted into Slytherin. Not all Slytherins are evil people. The house has the darkest witches and wizards, which is why Bowser Jr. fits this house. His favorite Hogwarts class would probably be Potions, a class taught by Professor Snape.
