For years, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been a staple game to play with friends in social gatherings, as well as the fighting game community. Many fans would have heated debates arguing in favor of their favorite characters that should be in Super Smash.
Now thanks to a diehard fan who wanted to see their character of choice in the game, people will now be able to play as the Among Us crewmates in Super Smash Bros. All, of course, thanks to the work of emulators, having no official connection with Nintendo.
A Japanese YouTuber by the name of Yutaka released a video trailer of the mod they created and showcasing how to use the character. The Super Smash Bros. Among Us mod comes with some different skins and move animations that all come straight from the game.
Due to the memory capacity for the game, only the red, green, purple, and blue suits are available to play as for the crewmate. Yutaka also incorporated the task animations from Among Us for the moves in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Animations involved include the card swipe task that is used for the down tilt, the gas canister task for the down smash, and the asteroid task for the down special.
Although it is different in Among Us, Yutaka has also given the crewmates imposter attributes for the moveset. The crewmate can use the alien tongue kill animation for the forward smash. the knife kill as a dash attack, and the gun kill animation for the neutral special. Yutaka has even developed a final smash animation for the crewmate. When the final smash move is initiated, the crewmates start by calling an emergency meeting. Once the imposter has been ejected, the four of them will fall back onto the stage and create a huge shockwave sending all the enemies off the map.
Among Us, is a social argument game that has recently exploded in popularity. With the enjoyment that these two games bring, it makes sense that someone would want the two games to crossover. Yutaka has made the mod available in a Dropbox file link in the description for gamers to access who want to implement it into their emulators. There is no word yet from Nintendo if there will ever be an actual Among Us crossover into the game. However, with the addition of newer characters such as Sans and Minecraft Steve in Smash Bros., the possibility grows by the day. At the very least, the crewmates might receive the Mii fighter costume treatment.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is out now for the Nintendo Wii.
