Many professional gamers, Twitch streaming personalities, and others working in the gaming industry have had allegations of sexual misconduct made against them. However, one Super Smash Bros. player reveals something about the accusation against him that proves his innocence.
Across the gaming and streaming industries, many people are coming forward to report inappropriate sexual conduct that they experienced while working in their fields. This has spread to the Super Smash Bros. competitive scene, where some have admitted that the scenarios described did actually happen. However, Jason “Mew2King” Zimmerman has a different story to tell.
Through a screenshot posted on Twitter, an allegation of sexual misconduct was made against Mew2King. He had been accused of ejaculating on a girl in her sleep while they were staying overnight in a Smash house. However, the Smash player addressed the rumor during a livestream on July 4. During the long stream, he talked about his thoughts on the situation and told his viewers why it was actually impossible for this incident to have happened as others have described it.
According to Mew2King, he would have been unable to do this due to complications from circumcision when he was a child. Because of these complications, he said that is unable to “feel pleasure, orgasm, or any of that stuff.” The Smash player wanted to avoid admitting this publicly but felt that he was forced to do this because of the accusation. He said that this condition and its effects have strongly contributed to his depression and suicidal thoughts. At one point, he almost quit streaming because a viewer found out and the Smash star didn’t want to be mocked about his condition online. He said that he was likely going to remove it from his book because he wasn’t ready to reveal this personal information to the public.
While fans can be relieved that Mew2King is innocent of this sexual misconduct, there are still many allegations that unfortunately have been confirmed. For example, ZeRo is no longer playing Smash and will be quitting YouTube, and with these changes come a shift in the culture of the game’s professional scene.
