In light of disappointing news from local police regarding her stalker, Sweet Anita is calling out content creators and other individuals to help her get laws in the UK changed to punish stalkers.

For months, Sweet Anita has been sharing with fans the nightmarish encounters she’s been having with a determined stalker. In November she shared on Twitter that the man had been “detained” by police with a knife in his possession. Sweet Anita says she shared evidence with the police regarding his threats and stalker behavior only for the man to be released with a warning.

A few days ago Sweet Anita shared on Twitter that the stalker was waiting for her outside her house, followed, and even chased her when she tried to leave her house. During a live stream Sweet Anita claims he threatened to “kill” her soon.

Understandably frightened she revisited the police who reviewed everything. According to Sweet Anita on Twitter, they informed her to keep her doors locked, to call the police if something happened, and would be taking no further action.

Frustrated and upset by the stalker and the seeming inaction of local police, Sweet Anita has taken to Twitch to call on other content creators to help her get the laws changed in the UK to make it stop. Both for her and other creators being stalked.

While she has been frustrated with the local police she did clarify that she does not hold them entirely responsible for the problem. When fans suggested that they bombard the department with phone calls until they take action she quickly rejected the idea saying it could prevent people from getting the help they need.

She mentioned in the video various “loop holes” that stalkers operate in to avoid breaking the law while still stalking their victims. Sweet Anita didn’t go into specifics but seems intent on closing off those loopholes as a starting point for changing the law.

It’s understandable that she’s frightened, tired, and more than a little angry with the whole thing and wants to be able to take action to make it stop. One potential consequence from the changes to the laws is that it might go too far in the other direction resulting in laws becoming so strict that non-stalkers are jailed over false accusations of stalking. It goes without saying that the laws regarding stalkers are complicated and there is no easy answer as to what could be safely changed to help people like Sweet Anita without unintentionally harming others.

Perhaps this entire ordeal will shed enough light on the issue to send both Sweet Anita’s and other content creators’ stalkers scurrying. If not, then maybe Sweet Anita’s attempts to raise awareness will result in the relief she’s seeking.
