HORI has unveiled a trifecta of new available colors for the Switch Split Pad Pro, scheduled to be available on September 7th.

The announcement was made over the official HORI Twitter, where HORI revealed the three new colors. Until the controllers are officially released, the only available color scheme is the Daemon X Machina themed red and black controller, so if that’s more your speed, feel free to gear up earlier.

While the Split Pad Pro lacks some of the features of a standard Joy-Con, including motion control and HD rumble, HORI didn’t design this controller as a replacement for the Joy-Con, so don’t go selling those! The Split Pad Pro was designed for gamers who prefer longer gaming sessions, but don’t always have access to their TV. It makes the perfect accessory or gift for Switch gamers who travel frequently, or who have large families that leave them with little time to hog the television. Do note that these controllers are only supported on the Nintendo Switch, not the Nintendo Switch Lite.

If you’re looking for Switch controllers for non-handheld play, HORI has got you covered there as well. Their HORIPAD wired controllers are an equally comfortable experience but for gaming on the big screen, most notably featuring a removable rolling d-pad, with a cluster of four buttons beneath it, for players who like to jump between precision combo play in Super Smash Bros and fast-paced horizontal and vertical gameplay in Tetris. For players looking to fuel their nostalgia, HORI also offers a series of controllers modeled after the original GameCube controller, with Mario, Pokémon and Zelda themes available.

With the new Split Pad Pro colors dropping in less than a month, now’s the time to start saving up for the best handheld experience available on the Switch. With so many great games expected to release in the coming year, you’ll definitely want to be as comfortable and as stylish as possible while you enjoy them.
