Tears of Avia - from developer CooCooSqueaky - received a brand-new trailer this week that featured combat, the turn-based strategy RPG game’s progression system, and the colorful cast of characters that will be accompanying players as they journey through the lands of Estera.

Hundreds of unique abilities, attacks, skills, and spells - ranging in both offensive and defensive - will be able to be learned and upgraded as players make their way through the game. These, however, are only as effective as the characters who are wielding the power. Let’s take a look at the charismatic characters that will make up players’ in-game party.

Kai - Class: Warrior

Nearly every party tends to have a warrior, and Tears of Avia is no different. Kai is steadfast in his beliefs, having grown up in the city of Trig and admiring the way that the city’s knights held themselves to a higher standard and stood for honor. Having become disenchanted by the lazier knights that he eventually trained with, Kai is looking for a way to prove that he is, in fact, worthy of being a great knight.

Reina - Class: Ranger

Rarely making an appearance in any sort of formalized civilization for anything other than supplies or to hustle a card game, Reina relies on the land of Estera and her hunting skills to survive. Reina’s grounded and street-smart approach to any situation usually ends with her coming out on top.

Iris - Class: Mage

Iris is a firecracker - literally, she’s a bit of a pyromaniac - who is a master of magic, making her a mage that anyone would want on their side. Having become relatively impatient with being the best, Iris searches Estera in search of lost tomes and ancient relics that will make her even stronger than she already is.

Raul - Class: Brawler

Every good party needs a shirtless brawler who is always ready to throw down in a battle of fisticuffs. Raul fits the mold perfectly as someone with a bit of a checkered past who - beneath his tough exterior - is a man in search of something more meaningful.

Momoko - Class: Priest

Having grown up in an orphanage and learning from the Priestesses of Liathi, Momoko devotes herself to learning more about the light of Liathi and spreading her word throughout Estera, while selflessly caring for those in need as the obvious healer of the group.

Players will be able to become even more familiar with these characters later this summer, when Tears of Avia launches for Xbox One and PC via Steam.
